Did you already set up your Yule/Christmas Tree???

After visiting 2 Christmas decoration shows at 2 different garden centers...I decided to buy some tree deco in a beautifull dusky/vintage/salmon pink and a little bit of a burgundy hue and...GOLD!!! I never liked gold...not in decorations...or jewelry...clothing...you name it!!!
But last time I was experimenting with some make-up colors I normally won't wear, you already guess...with gold tones and a little burgandy...and....I reallly...really liked it how it looked! I have grey/green eyes, and normally I use more cool tones like grey/silver and purples...those colors make the grey tones pop! But with the gold tones...the green tones where coming out really nice!!!

So this year I couldn't resist to use those colors for my Yule/Christmas Tree!

Nope. No Christmas before Thanksgiving at our house! No carols, decorations, lights, nothing. Everyone else always tries to break it but I'm very strict, haha.

My family typically does it on thanksgiving after the dinner, but I have to work that night so I can officially get out of tree-decorating duties.

I'm not opposed to setting the tree up before thanksgiving, but haven't had time this year. So it'll go up maybe next week sometime.

We set up most of the Christmas decorations on the 1st of December. But the tree waits until the 23rd, Little Christmas eve as we call it in Norway

Its way too early yet for a tree in our house.  This year I am not sure my heart is even into having a tree.  So, we may go without one.  It happens sometimes.  I think your tree is lovely.  Our family tradition is to put the tree up on the evening of Thanksgiving Day.

I'm sorry for totally forgot about Thanksgiving!!!!
We don't celebrate Thanksgiving here in the Netherlands! But we have this celebrating for the children at December the fifth called Sinterklaas...or Santa Claus!!! It's the same guy who has traveled to the States with the immigrants from the Netherlands in the 1700/1800! But with a lot of people who celebrate almost the same thing it's getting mixed up trough time!
Mostly the people who have kids who are still believe in Sinterklaas are setting up a Christmas tree after December the fifth!
But I don't see the tree only for Christmas but also the *Bringer of Light* in what we call *The Dark Days Before Christmas/Yule* !!!

The outdoor lights are up but the tree may only come up after the second or third week of December.

We normally wait till thanksgiving evening but my little boy had been beggings for weeks. We put the tree with lights up today. We probably won't decorate it till next weekend. It is awfully pretty all lit up

I love Christmas trees but we've had to swear them off for the cats` sakes. A couple years ago, my husband's sister had her sphinx cat nearly die after eating some of the plastic needles off theirs so we went O.O and put ours away somewhere our cats can't get to it.

Gonna put up the tree after Thanksgiving, although I've already decorated other parts of the house and we might do the outside of the house today before it gets too cold to do anything. Putting up the tree after Thanksgiving actually has nothing to do with Thanksgiving itself (I'm not one of those people that's crazy about the holiday/meaning behind it... I just see it as another time of the year that I get to have a nice dinner with family). Christmas, for me, starts the day after Halloween. I just want to get new ornaments this year, and I'm making some of my own as well, so I wanted to get the tree up after I was done with that.

My mini tree is still up from last year.

As for the big family tree, we are holding off because we think we may need a smaller one this holiday. My dad may be able to come home from where he's getting therapy for his stroke on weekends / for the holidays, but he still can't walk up a flight of stairs so his bed and other things will be in the room we normally put the tree in. They--and having him here for the holidays--is more important than how big the tree is.
