Found some G3's at a thrift store

Found these lovely ladies at a thrift store in downtown Crossville TN, in a box with about two dozen assorted G3's, some McD ponies and a G1 pony with a missing tail (pale pink/white w/ small white blobs for a cutie mark).

Was tempted to get the whole batch, but paced myself due to a lack of room in which to display all my toys. The condition of these G3's isn't too bad, hair of course is a mess and will take a while to untangle. One of them, Wisteria I think, has some white markings on her other side that won't come off. Not too concerned about that, can't see them unless you look for them.

Would anyone mind telling me the names of these ponies? Thank you

Nice find, i'm pretty sure they'll clean well
These ladies are, from left to right: Cotton Candy, Round and Round, Butterscotch, Wysteria and Sweetsong.

Jorgito got all the G3 names, but the G1 you described is the OG Cotton Candy, who is also one of the original 6 ponies released.  ;)

Huh, how bout that. Not worth a whole lot considering the condition she's in, but I might pick her up next time I'm in town just to have a little slice of early pony history in my collection.

Congrats on finding ponies in the wild!  I am sure they will enjoy their spa :D :D

G1 can clean up really nicely - you'd be surprised, but check out some of the before & after restoration/spa photos! You also can't really hold G1 to quite the same standard for condition as you might a G3, since they are a few decades old at this point.  ;) You should definitely snag her and show her off! There are a few different variations, so I'm curious which one your find was.  :)

Butterscotch is one of my favourite G3s! You're so lucky to have found her, she's a beautiful pony  :)

Yeah I settled on ponies with hair/body color combos that are different than what I currently have in my collection. Variety is nice, which is why I'm getting into older generations of MLP toys, to go with my hundreds of G4's.

Is acetone safe to use on the bodies of these ponies? There's some markings, paint or something, on the far side of these toys that I would like to try and remove.

Thanks.

Think there was a baby butterscotch in that box of stuff as well... or maybe McD's, I don't know. Anyways, I went back to that thrift store today and grabbed another handful of ponies. Including that G1.

Again I'd like to know the names of these ponies, and some info about them if available. Got a pair that's the same pony, just a different pose.

Got a couple smudges that can be cleaned off easily, though I was looking through her tail hole and saw something black/grey growing inside her left foreleg. Gonna have to take her head off to clean inside, the glue's about half gone anyway. Hoping it'll pop right back on afterwards.

Edit: I was able to pry her head off, there's definitely a couple stains inside. Least it doesn't look permanent, some of them came away with a bit of soap and water. I'll finish the job tomorrow.

Everything featured here came in a bag together. Can someone confirm if this pony/scooter combo normally go together? Obviously missing some parts, I see a slot for a sidecar attachment and something clips onto the helmet.

This is the pair of ponies I mentioned earlier. Just curious about these two variants.

The rest of  my haul. I especially adore that white pony with the fabric flower cutie mark. Again, I'd like to know the names and some general info about these ponies.

Thank you

Congrats on all the new ponies! That's certainly more than I ever find at a thrift shop!

Cotton Candy, definitely. What do the bottoms of her hooves look like?

That's Goodie Goodie, but she didn't come with a scooter; I'm not 100%, but that looks like Sprite's scooter and helmet (I have one of her myself). The thing that attaches to the helmet is the face shield:

These are both Fluttershy.

Sunny Daze, Skywishes (I think!), Piccolo, Sew-and-So (I think), Scooter Sprite (the one whose scooter and helmet I think you have in the other photo), Toola Roola

Phew! That's a lot of ponies! I hope I got them all right for you; Strawberry Reef (http://www.strawberryreef.com/index.html) is a great G3 resource, and the wiki is back up and running as well, you can always double check there!  :frolic:

Good to know, thanks. The G1 Cotton Candy I have, her hooves have "©1982 Hasbro, Pat Pending, Made in Hong Kong" on the bottom. Definitely an older G1, I've a couple others from 83/84.

I'm sorry, I should have specified! I knew she was an older one, but are her hooves flat or concave on the bottom? There are at least three versions of the original 6 ponies - ones with flat feet, ones with concave feet, and a 2nd concave-feet version that came as a mail order.

Definitely concave. Did they all release at the same time? just wondering how old this version of Cotton Candy is.

Concave hooves means she's either a second store release or a mail order, for sure; still early in MLP history, though!
