Cleaning question - Greek Baby Minty
« on: October 15, 2016, 10:05:53 AM »
Hi everyone,

I have a gorgeous baby Minty from Greece, but unfortunately she has a pen stain on her. I've tried oxy bath thingy, magic erasers, tooth paste and nail polish remover. It has hardly budged and the plastic in that area now feels different to the rest. Leave alone and except pen mark, or try other cleaning products do you think? I don't think you can bleach green ponies....

Any help or suggestions welcomed  :)

You've tried everything you can  an aggressive process can take the surface off a pony leaving it feeling a bit different :(

You could try sunning her to fade the marks :) it might take time, but a majority of pen marks can be carefully fade that way. Just make sure you cover her hair, symbols and only have the mark exposed :) hopefully a few weeks or months on a sunny window sill will lighten the pen.

The Greek plastic is a bit different from the others, so perhaps it has sunk in more? Definitely don't bleach her, but sunfading is worth a shot.

Thank you. I'm annoyed with myself for cleaning her too much, I've done some damage to her plastic. Will try sun fading, thanks guys x

 it's a mistake I've made in the past too.

LadyG is right, the plastic of Greek ponies is different and more porous. Stains do seem to "sink in".

Hopefully sun fading will help :)
