Well, ponies hair is made out of nylon so fabric softener helps with the fibers. From what I hear. :) I have made a fairy tail bird's tail better by using a flat iron at low setting and fabric softener. I have a steam flat iron I don't know if that helps or not.

By the way, does it work with sunshine ponies? Mine have nice color hair and the white stripe is awful. Thought for Beachball it changes in the sun, for Wave Runner the mane does not change anymore
If Waverunner's hair doesn't change color anymore, it doesn't hurt to give it a shot.  I wouldn't try it on Beachball, I've heard heat treating color change hair can cause it to stop working.

So maybe this is why Waverunner doesn't change anymore... anyway their hair is really something to deal with hahaha.
Gonna try the ironing :-)

There are times I want to take a break or stop collecting, but cute things keep coming out! I want G4 to end already so I know how many shelves I need to get. I dont want to buy all this furnoture and find out later I have no room for it because more things I want keep coming out! xD

Its challenging for me working on making this blog page with my pony collection on it, very challenging project and it will take months.

Don't use heat on color change hair or SS pony`s

I would imagine the flocking near the mane/tail could melt from the heat of the iron.

My ss are not flocked anymore. I always buy them almost bait so l can deflock them. But the funny thing is that even with bad flocking, their hair is always nice and shiny, maybe because of the hot water ^^

Heat only works a little bit on the color-change hair.  It's a different type of nylon (if it's even nylon, I don't know) and is thicker than normal pony hair and it just doesn't flatten as well.  Add in that the ends of it frizz exponentially easier than normal hair, and it just equals hair that is much more prone to damage.  The good news is heat won't damage it further when applied correctly.

An, also applied correctly, heat shouldn't do anything to the hair on a SS.  If you're melting SS glue while flattening hair, you're doing something wrong.

The color-changing streaks just get nasty very easily because, as Skeen says, it's made of a different material than normal pony hair.

If you get one with a nice color-changing streak try not to touch it, lol!

From the beginning l gave up on sunshine ponies since l noticed their hair was funny. Besides l've never tried the ironing because l don't want to mess up a nice pony.
I've got a bait wave runner so maybe one day l'll try on her.

The one thing i HATE is frizzy hair on a pony.
