Horse doll IDs
« on: September 23, 2016, 04:49:05 PM »
I've got two horse toys I need help identiflying. x-x Neither of them have any markings, dates, company names, or anything stamped or printed on them. If anyone has any ideas as to what they are it would be really helpful!

The first one is pretty wild and resembles a Dream Beauty. I only acquired this one recently:

The second is a toy I've had since I was a child. It was given to me by a friend and don't know his story before that. He's a very light, hollow plastic, (mostly) flocked and his mane is made of fur.  Not gonna post a photo of the figure from that angle but it is a stallion.

i believe your boy might be a Totsy brand horse! https://rainbowsendtack.com/PeterStoneandSchleichHorsesPage7.htm
i know nothing about this brand, but i totally recognize your stallion and i think i had a similar one. its a company from massachusettes, and i believe they're out of business...not a lot of info online.
though it could be this mysterious SC made in hong kong horse, as listed just above. they both look very similar.

i have no info about your girl, but she also looks very familiar! perhaps something barbie?

There are many variations brand-wise on those flocked horses, even as early as the eighties. Your pose is an unusual one though, and if I didn't know better, I would think it was a more recent model, because the further you go back, usually the more 'classic' poses you see. Yours must be very early indeed. Sorry I can't be more help!

First one is a Fashion Star Filly named Joelle.

Second is a flocked fakie.

Thanks for all the info guys! Glad I've got an ID for at least one of 'em. I really do wish I had more info to give you for the black flocked horse but I literally know nothing more about it, that friend never told me anything about it before she gave it to me. I can't ask her since we lost contact a long time ago. ^^;

Since he's a bit of a mystery I'm wondering if it's a good idea to try and fix him up or leave him as is.

The Fashion Star Fillies are very collectible, so take good care of that one! There are a lot of us here who would love to get our hands on her! :)
