Ooh, that's another good point - what kind of tip and surface you end up using has a huge effect on how the whole thing feels.  I'm a bit heavy handed and was going through plastic nibs like nobody's business, switched over to felt tips and that made a world of difference - highly recommended.  Less tablet wear, less slippage/a more traditional feel, and they just last and last.
