Quote from: ponyqueen on August 30, 2016, 01:26:01 PMThat photo is from Amsterdam, across the canal from central station. Although we did have our first fry/mayo experience in Bruges just a couple weeks beforehand.I wonder why they have a fries place called "Manneken Pis" (the lil boy peeing, symbol of Brussels), in Amsterdam? Maybe a belgian owner? I'll be sure to ask if i ever go there (in fact i was in Amsterdam last Saturday, but not in that vicinity)

Maybe because they probably are so-called 'Flemish Fries'?
Miracle Whip by a landslide. Its has some sorta sweetness to me. Heck, I used to just put it on some white sandwich bread and just ate it. Yup, bread and miracle whip...those were the days.

I think I have never in my life put anything other than ketchup on my fries.

"French fries" are already a pure abomination (and a false name)... The "real" fries are Belgian.Cooked twice, as proper fries should be, to avoid turning into fat sponges. Crunchy oustide and warm to the core.(Though i had some decent ones in the Netherlands, that's true). And i regret that we don't have saté sauce here, amongst the dozen of sauces we commonly find in fries shops.

Probably could still eat it now as a kidult. But it's be a waste of money and food since I would be the only one eating miracle whip and bread Quote from: Honeycomb on September 01, 2016, 09:53:47 PMI think I have never in my life put anything other than ketchup on my fries. Same. I can't fathom using anything other than ketchup for my dear french fries. Mustard on french fries are also a thing. Not sure if its a southern thing though...
