honestly, i think she looks just fine as she is! her hair is a bit short, but it just looks more like a cute bob than anything. you could always try fixing the ends by feathering them out a bit, and itd make it look more natural and less "cut" looking. i've done that with a few ponies with haircuts, and it tends to make them look much better! of course, its entirely up to you what you decide to do. i feel a total rehair is a bit uncalled for, since she's not in that bad of condition.

Have you tried cleaning the tail? There's barely any rust in the hair, at least based on the photo. You could replace the metal with a zip tie and continue to use the tail. I've seen much rustier tails restored with a bit of cleaning.

She looks really cute, but if the hair bothers you I'd use the tail hair to rehair her Especially if you plan on keeping her Same goes for symbols - I'd paint some if she were to stay in my collection if I were you.

I found an old posey tail today and with the rust, the sunbleaching an discolouration, it matches mostly 100%! Lucky me. So she can get a new tail for the moment and I can decide what I'd like to do in the second step without destroying anything.
