The back of backcards
« on: August 07, 2016, 08:53:04 AM »
Hi ponies :)

We all love seeing MOC ponies ^.^ there is a lot to learn from the cards as well as them just being pretty to look at ;)

However there is even more we can learn from the backs of the cards, yet they are rarely shown. The cards show who made the ponies and distributed them.

Here are some pictures of the backs of some of my MOC ponies ^.^

German Starshine

Not nirvana, but vertical UK carded Starshine :)

I have some others I must take pictures of ^.^

Do you have pictures of the backs of your backwards you can share?

Love pkw xxx

They are so beautiful!

Here are mine, from my childhood. Sherbet isn't really a Nirvana, but I bought her in Spain.

Fabulous!!! Thank you all for sharing :) I've not seen the backs of those cards before.

Honeycomb what are the hoof marks on your Sherbet? There are NC versions of Sundea Best ponies. I notice on the backcard it says "made in Spain" in the bottom corner.

I know, but she isn't NC or Made in Spain, just plain old HK (or China). I don't have her with me, so I can't check. But definitely not Spanish.

Love those backcards LadyG

Thank you for replying Honeycomb :bigups: I was curious to know her hoof marks due to the "made in Spain". I know that regular HK/China ponies were sold on foreign language cards. It's confusing it says "made in Spain" when the pony actually wasn't :)

Yeah, although cards can help, they can sometimes hinder too! I have a part of Baby Cuddles box from childhood that says 'Baby Cuddles and her buggy Made in Spain' but th  pony is clearly marked Hong Kong and there are no typical Spanish features.

Yes! The Baby water colour Seaponies say "made in Mexico" on their boxes and yet they are of HK/China origin.

That is awesome, I have never seen a Danish language card before - I am from Norway, so that is as almost as close to Norwegian you can get on a MLP backcard. Fantastic! Although, a tad bit sad that they didn't translate the story, just wrote something not related to Seashell at all...

Yeah, it's the same story on most (all?) the Danish cards. I'd have o double check Tootsie's card when I get home to be sure. I love different language cards :)
