I aired out one of my stinky G3 Ponies by putting her outside for a week.  I washed her, and scrubbed her with a magic eraser then washed her with hand soap then set her outside on a table until the stench went away.

The picture says "Do not use PVC"  How can you tell if the bin you are using is PVC?

Also, one thing I always try first is putting the pony (toy) in the sun for about hour.  Sunlight has great disinfecting power and I've had success eliminating smoke smells from ponies, but don't forget and leave it out there too long!

Most bins aren't. but you don't want PVC (especially plastized) in contact with PVC. PVC will be marked with a #3 (recycling symbol #'s are 1 to 7 on plastics). :)

I second the vote for leaving ponies outside! I left a horrible-smelling Baby Glory outside, and now she's nowhere near as bad. Sometimes they just need to air out.
Cannot have anything scented in the house, unfortunately. Seeking the unscented, magnetless variant of Thistle Whistle. (And wishing the other Sunny Scent ponies got similar ones, because they're lovely. *sigh*)

LOL  No, I haven't dug it up.  Aadra and I can't agree on where we buried her!  She's either at the end of the porch or out by the back fence, because we both remember being in both places with the pony, but not the actual burial!

I'll be at Mom's tonight, maybe I can get my niece to dig for me.

Oh she'd do it if she thought there was a pony in it, for sure.  No sweetening needed!

Re: Bad Breath Minty? Update: Cured!

So, bad breath Minty has been cured! I simply let her air out alone for all this time, and she seems to be scent free now. I wonder if the bath helped at all or if she only need some air. She didn't even get much UV light, as I didn't want to harm her hair, but maybe some ponies just need some time after their spa day.

I think ponies like the infamous Merry Treats need more than a bath and some air, however.

I scrub all of my ponies with a toothbrush and toothpaste when they arrive. It usually takes care of any odour and seems to bring back the scent of scented ponies.

I remember a thread on here from a few years ago of someone opening a stinky pony and finding poop inside. Cant remember who though...

I would definitely open her up. I have a paradise I deflocked to get the terrible smoke off of her but it didn't help because it was inside too.

I may try that kitty litter tip...

I tried steamed vinegar and baking soda. No luck.
