T-T   There are raid battles EVERYWHERE around me, but I'm not level 35.....

What level are you? I'm 29 and was able to do raid battles yesterday. I did my first one this morning against a Croconaw.

Really? I suppose that explains why I was suddenly able to get a raid pass today! And I have to say, I MUCH prefer this new gym system.

How did your raid battle against the Crocanaw go, Renia? Has anyone else done a raid battle yet? I tried to do one with my sister against an Exeggutor and accidentally closed the app (long story) She was able to beat it on her own, though. The next day we fought a Quilava and today I fought a Magmar alone. So far we've beaten them all! The Exeggutor was difficult, my sister said, but she was able to enter the battle again with a new team after being beaten, for some reason, and then was able to beat it. I hope to get some TMs as a raid battle reward! I'd like to change my perfect Charizard's bad movesets and some other Pokémon's movesets.

Oh yeah, I meant to post about that! The battle went well. My husband and I were the only ones in the group, but we managed to take it down and both caught it. We've determined that we can't do level 4 raids with just the two of us, though. Tried to take down a Tyranitar yesterday and we got it to half its health before time ran out.

Good news is that I think you can be level 20+ now to do raids, and that's about where some of my friends are, so maybe we can get them into playing again.

I got a Charged TM item from beating Croconaw! I changed my Machamp's charged attack and got Close Combat, which is 100x better.

Also, I'm FINALLY done walking with Grimer! I used a rare candy on it for that last candy so I didn't have to walk with it anymore. Pupitar is my walking buddy now.

Good news - I hatched a high IV Dratini today (finally) and got myself a high IV Dragonite.

Bad news - last night I was in the middle of a raid with another mystery player. It was an Alakazam and we almost had it. Then my GPS jumped me D:

I found out that you can re-enter the battle at least but it starts you over and I was not successful in finding a team mate. If it weren't for the timer I think I could have taken him.

A friend and I did our first raid on Sunday. It ended up being the 2 of us and 1 other player against a Machamp. We were able to win and catch the Machamp after!

My friend was really excited because Machamp was the last he needed to complete the Gen 1 pokedex with the exception of what's not been released and the country exclusives.

Cool raid stories! And congrats on your Dragonite, Duenia, and your Muk, Renia! I've done two more raids, solo because I saw them while driving home from work. The first was a Magikarp, which a fellow team member showed up from somewhere (I never physically saw them) to help me beat. The poor Pokémon fainted in about 5 seconds. The second raid was against a Vaporeon, who trounced me soundly. I wished then that I had people to help me. Just a little bit more and he would have been beaten. The bright point of that experience was that I put a defending Pokémon into that gym right before the raid started, so he's at least guaranteed to last an hour.

The change in the gyms has meant I'm having much more success keeping a Pokemon in a gym for longer than 5 minutes

I have found a useful trick, haha!  The other day, I took down a gym, and put in my pokemon. Just a couple of minutes later, someone pulls up and starts battling my pokemon, long before it reached the 10 minute mark (when you get a coin),  so I kept waiting till they got it down to where one more battle would knock it out...then feeding it a golden raspberry, sending it back up to full strength.  After the fourth or fifth berry, they gave up, haha!

I'm hoping regionals worldwide are the 'mystery prize' that can be unlocked by trainers at Chicago catching enough pokemon to get to the gold level; a legendaries event would be awesome, too!
