Pokémon Go! Lapras and Articuno

I now officially have all the Gen 1 pokemon since I got enough candy to evolve Omanyte into Omastar yesterday! Woho!
Wow! I want shiny Magikarp now!
Magikarps are so rare around these parts for some odd reason (I live near a big lake) but due to the event more karps seemed to have spawned so maaaaybe I can get one too!

Oh, but I've seen TONS of Squirtle, which is the last thing I need. I got Blastoise forever ago!

I feel bad for my husband because he loves Totodile and hasn't seen one yet, either. I hope we can go up to the city tomorrow since it'll be really nice and he's said that even though he works downtown, he hasn't had much time to check the app while at work, but we may have other plans.

I got three new Pokemon I've never heard of before, one's a really pretty manta ray! (The other ones were a little fish that evolves into an octopus, and said octopus. )

I'll trade you many Totodiles for a Lapras It's weird how Niantic seems to have left Totodile out of their programming for some areas. Maybe they'll fix it. Fingers crossed for your hopeful trip to the city!

I'm feeling a little deflated; I felt that for sure I could find a Lapras spawning somewhere with this event going on. I read online that marinas or coastlines with electric spawns or ice types are good places to look for a Lapras, so for the past three days I've searched a park with boat launches that has Voltorbs and Magnemites spawning like Rattatas, in addition to a few ice types. Nothing I've also been to a lot of other waterfront parks and areas with marinas. But I haven't seen a Lapras even on the sightings. I saw a Vaporeon for the first time on the sightings (I evolved my own but have never seen one on the sightings), and many, many, many water types (a water biome with a water event leaves you drowning in water types, pun intended). But no Lapras . . . It's still just the third day in, though. I can't give up yet.

Aw I'm sorry Haruna! I haven't seen any Lapras or Totodiles either!! I saw a lone squirtle, which seemed a little low, since I still need a bunch of candies for a blastoise! I hope you find one!

I get a few totodile a day with this event, wish it was a bit more, still need several more before I can do his final evolution.

No Lapras for me either. Guess not everyone has him like I thought, lol. Hope we all get him.

I'm glad you pony people play, cause I don't know like anybody in real life who still plays! I mean I see people when I go out, usually older, which I think is really cool. But nobody I know personally.

I finally caught a Lapras today at the grocery store, hope everyone else can find one!

Also, is anyone else spotting more Slowpokes than normal?  I had just one from an egg, but now they are showing up a few times a day, enough that I evolved my best one!

Hope I get a good evolution item tomorrow, now that we're guaranteed one every 7th day!

I'm seeing a lot of Slowpoke too. I even caught a wild Slobro! Slowpoke hardly showed up for me at all during the Valentine's Day event, but with this Water Type event he's everywhere. I got enough candies now to evolve one, but I'm waiting until I get a King's Rock. I'd rather have a Slowking than a better Slobro.

Thank you! I got frustrated again today when I didn't find one, but maybe I'm taking the game too seriously. If I don't find one during the event, I'll have to remind myself that at least there's the small chance I can hatch one someday . . . But I really hope I find one

I know what you mean! It's nice to connect with others who play. The game's more fun that way. I've looked on local Facebook groups, but they're not very active here. It would be nice if Niantic added some sort of safe way to communicate with other players in the game.

Congratulations! Why does it seem more and more like Wal-Mart is the go-to place for Pokémon, lol? I found a ton of Pokémon (before this event) at Wal-Mart a few weeks ago and was really surprised to see so many (a Pikachu, some others, and a Donphan that ran away). (I don't normally go to Wal-Mart these days just because it moved too far away from my house.) And lunar_scythe mentioned that she caught her Lapras at a grocery store, and I think Renia found one of hers at a grocery store; I guess Pokémon congregate around stores like Wal-Mart and grocery stores because of all the cellphone use? Maybe I should search for Lapras at Target . . .

Yes, I think so. They're here normally, but there are more than usual! Tomorrow's my seventh-day spin as well. (I'm wishing for a sunstone -- I have a good Oddish and lots of candies saved for a Bellossom!) Hope you get what you want.

I went out today and read while I had lures and incense going at a spot where I can spin 4 stops at once, and it's this park that always has great Pokemon. Nooooo Lapras. I think I read this event ends the 29th.

I'm glad I don't need Lapras because I haven't seen a single one during this event.

I'm so tired of Squirtle. I wish it could be replaced with Totodile.

Other than no Totodile sightings, I'm still happy with the event. I got Octillery and Lanturn, which I didn't have before, so that's cool.

Last night (well...this morning) two of our friends stayed at our house until 4am, and we decided to walk over to a local donut place for fresh donuts/hit up a few Pokestops on the way. Aside from my husband, they're the only other friends I regularly hang out with that still play Go so it was nice to chat about it for a bit. They're aren't too many people I can talk to about Pokémon Go anymore, or else I'll get "You still play that?!"

I managed to knock Mantine, Quilfish, Lanturn and Octillery off my list with this event, although I haven't seen a darn Lapras or a Totodile at all.  I'm also at 370 candies for Magikarp, so almost there!  I also finally got my first evolution item a day before my 7 day streak - a Sun stone - only to get another Sun stone on my 7-day streak :/  I don't have Sunkern yet so I can't use it, but at least I have it to save for when I do.

Don't forget that Gloom also uses a Sun Stone to evolve into Bellossom.
