northstar3184: Ohhh wow! I´m not alone in the "male pony" thing lol
Maybe these ponies have poses, names, symbols that make us think they are boys? It is a curious thing!

I have other ponies that still hasn´t families or couples that for me also are boys: Sunrise Song and Mittens (the version with the white pine as symbol), maybe Mittens will be Rainbow Flash and Sweet Summertime´s brother, I see it interesting, Sweet represents summer, Mittens winter   

For me establishing a G3's gender has a lot to do with the pony's symbol. Since G3 has no pre-designated males, many of my ponies with androgynous symbols are boys. In addition to ones already mentioned, in my herd this includes: Apple Spice, Bubblecup, Lavender Cloud, Lickety Split, Minty, Scooter Sprite, Shenanigans, Snowflake, Sweet Song, Wishawhirl, and Wondermint.

Then a couple I'd like to acquire to add more males to the herd would be Party Cake, Banjo Blue and October Calendula (the pony seems masculine to me despite the floral symbol)

northstar3184: I searched all of them to see pics, and for me too Apple Spice, Lickety Split, Scooter Sprite, Shenanigans (vII), Sweet Song (vI), Wishawhirl, Party Cake and Banjo Blue are boys 

In my case sometimes, like with Shenanigans and Sweet Song, only one version looks male. I think I tend to see only some poses as masculine. For example I see always the one with the open mouth and Port-O-Bella´s pose feminine, while the others could be boys or girls indistinctly.

But well, there aren't rules for this, I just see a pony and immediately think it is a boy or girl, it is a first sight thing for me 

 

[Twilight Pink]

I'm too lazy to take pics of my pony families, but I'm more than happy to give a rundown on em 
The Twilight family  consists of:
-G1s Twilight and Tux N Tails (mom & dad), daughters (in order) Twilight Twinkle, Twilight Pink, & Starsong. Twilight Twinkle is Twilight Sparkle's mom. Silver glow & Starsong are cousins. Shining Armor is Twilight Sparkle's half brother.

Other families
Mimic is Caribbean Delight's & Sunrise Song's mother.
Sunburst is Sunshimmer's father while Sunshimmer is Sunset Shimmer's mother.
Crowning Glory is Diamond Tiara's mom.
All the Rainbows of G3 are sisters (Rainbow Dash, Rainbow Flash, Rainbow Sunrise, Rainbow Bubbles....)

Brights Brightly and Dreams Drifter are the only 2 pony's gender I've changed. Dream Drifter is currently in a relationship with Waterfire.

The_Loner: Wow!! I really love your pics, thank you so much for sharing! My fave is the first one I bought Mittens 3 days ago so I´m still thinking if he will be related to one of my other ponies  He makes a cute couple with that blue pony, wich is her name? 

I don´t play with them, I only spent a lot of time brushing them and taking pictures 
But I have wrote some of the stories (I have in my mind the others  )

I have some slightly odd combinations too like I don't have Mommy Apple Delight I just include CP Applejack and Baby Applejack in the Apple Delight family.  I think i just wanted Baby Applejack to have a Dad?! Hopefully Mommy Apple Delight is happy somewhere with her toyboy. Same deal with the Bright Bouquet family which inudes Blossom, Baby Blossom and Baby Lucky.  I've got to check out whether Ribbon might work as a male companion for Bow Tie but not sure about the colours yet.

Twilight Pink: Wow, you have many families too 

I like that you used G1s as moms and dads of the G3s. I always thought G1s look like oldest ponies and that they are perfect as G3s parents. I don´t have grandparents in my families because I haven´t G1 ponies  but surely I would include them in my familes

Artemesia Floc I find super cute that G1s has original families, but well, if you dont have all the ponies of that family is cute too to find companions for the other members

I´m from Argentina, here is difficult to find ponies, so I thought I never would find the Newborn Cuties babies, and I really wanted them, especially Sweetie Belle. So I bought a yellow fakie and I painted it white. My intention was to make a Sweetie replica, but then I thought my Star-Desert couple could have a baby 

Months later I found the Newborns Sweetie Belle and Rainbow Dash, so my decision was right

The only "made-up" couple I have is from childhood - and for lack of other ponies,

Barnacle and Ringlets was boyfriend/girlfriend. They were the young, cool couple

Many of my couples also are travel companions, for example I bought Mittens and Cupcake the same day, and when I brought them out of my bag I saw them as couple... You know, she needed a oven mitten for when she bakes cupcakes, so she went to Mittens´s shop and it was love at first sight
