so I learned that she has three types so let this be a "lesson" to all newbies reading = be warned that suddenly not only are there different countries, and different poses, but variations of the variant (I'm starting to see turtles standing on turtles in how one begins their trip along the collecting nirvana path ;-) if you see how this goes...)

anyhow here's the two to compare - I would say than one is regular and the other is painted white and pearly

you can see a bit of a scuff at her cheek and I'll see if I can get another pic so you can see how that one's been painted white over the I'm guessing creamy white mold color PVC

If anyone has any history knowledge about miss novia as to why argentina created a pearly and a painted pearly line I would love to know :-) and thanks in advance for sharing the knowledge as unfortunately both of my MLPs were picked up off of ebay so I have no childhood pony stories to share

I know even less about nirvanas and don't even own an argie, but do you think the pearly finish might have been added by a customiser?  The only pearlies I know of are the MO baby pony set, the UK hair-do ponies and the tails of the fancy mermaid ponies.  Would be super cool if it's real though!

huh I hadn't even thought these were customized... I have a gingerbread that has the rump painted and then stamped and some folks have found colombia had painted ponies so I was under the prevailing notion that it was a way for the company to preserve what otherwise would be a defective pony mold and keep it in production

but yeah, I don't know if anyone has a MOC pearly novia = that would be the only sure way to ID it as legit

They were made the way, they aren't customised it's always good to be aware though.

Other painted Argies have been found MOC. Gingerbread and white Baby Starbow have painted versions.

I'm not sure why they were painted, but it's clear that they are dark cream under the paint, rather than Snow White.

Aren't there versions of her floating around with pearly body but normal head/vice versa?

yay I found a home for my novia double :-) so I would love to know more about this pearly argentina MLP if anyone has any history

argentina was also the only other country to try sparkle ponies like in in the US so maybe it was a Top Toy's  response to Hasbro pearly types... dunno

hmmm... speaking of argentina - I have two orange lickety ponies so onto the next thread

I have both versions.  I got both of them MIB, so I can comfirm that the pearly version is 100% legitimate. The ponies aren't the only thing that's different - their veils are completely different lace patterns as well. And I think their combs are different colors, but I they're packed away, so I can't check on that.

Thank you for posting goodessofpeep I've only seen the non pearly version MIB. I didn't know about the different accessories either.
