Can you identify my pony's origin?
« on: June 29, 2016, 06:45:18 PM »
Hi!

I just received A pony in a lot I bought.  She is blue in a "Posey" earth pony pose.  She has ice cream cones as her symbol.  Her hair is yellow.  Can you tell me where she came from and what her name is?  I assume it's not Lickety Split.  Her foot says Hasbro '84.  Her eyes are "rough"--not well defined.

Do you know what she's worth?

Thanks for the help.

It may be a rare version of Lickety Split from Venezuela. I think I have a picture of one matching that description saved on my old computer.

I think you might be able to see a pic at the link below.  The lighting made her hair paler than it really is.

Wow, that sounds like the SUPER rare Blue Lickety Split.  She's desperately sought after by a lot of collectors.  I don't know her value but I imagine it would be a lot.  Congratulations on her!

Nice find!

I agree she is super rare :bigups: I can't think how much the last one sold for, but it was around $1000.

By the pic and description she sounds like a Vene Lickety Split. How lucky!

I would say she does look likely to be a Venzuelan Lickety Split :) If you got her in a lot, you did very well indeed! :bigups:

Thanks for the help!

I'm debating if I'll keep her.  I don't even have any Nirvana's except for one German pony and one Danish.

Pretty excited about the find.  I was disappointed with the lot and chastising myself for paying too much until I saw her!  Pretty cool if she's rare!  It's funny because the seller kept telling me she was giving me a rare sea pony (that was actually a common suffering from regrind) and a rare sparkle pony (also a common I already own--purchased previously for 2 dollars).  She never mentioned this pony!

Do you have to be extra careful cleaning nirvanas?  Or can I still use dish soap and water and recondition her hair with regular shampoo and conditioner?

Cleaning with dish soap, shampoo, & conditioner should be fine. That's what I have used on all of my ponies (from all different countries). I would only recommend being gentle when combing her hair.
