Is there an avatar size limit?

Hi,

Is there a size limit for the avatar images? I was trying to upload an animated GIF for my avatar and although it shows that it loads okay and my avatar changes the animation doesn't work.  This is the image I wanted to use.

I only know of physical size dimensions (150x150), I don't see anything for the file size itself. It's possible it just doesn't like/can't handle the animated file. It is quite large at 423.46 KB, it might be having trouble displaying the animation.
