Vintage Jem/Rio Question

Hi there *waves* I just got a set of Glitter and Gold Jem and Rio dolls off Ebay and Rio is like super duper orange. Is that normal or does he has issues? LOL! I didn't notice any age spots or dolly Cancer on him. I just do not remember him being so Oompa Loompa-ish. Thanks!

.... Sadly, I seem to recall that's exactly what my Rio did..

They all look pretty orange, but I don't recall them starting out that way.  I think that there is probably some discoloration issue at work.  But I think most if not all Rios look weirdly orange.  Like a really really bad spray tan.
