Moonstone question
« on: April 16, 2016, 04:08:02 AM »
Today I found the right Moonstone on the picture but I am not sure what to make of the symbols. They are both Hong Kong with hasbro pat bend 83 and glittery symbols.
Any thoughts?  Thank you :)

Symbols go rusty and fade easily... this is normal wear and tear on a pony of that age...

Large symbol vs small symbols and also pink stripe (the large symbol on the left) vs red stripe.

Thank you for your answers so far.
Yes I am aware of the rusty symbols in that serie but there is no trace of glitter loss.
The small/large symbols make sense and there is a difference in hair colour. Is that known for the Rainbow ponies? I know the tropical hair differences but never heard of the symbol size. I see that more with Majesty, Raindrop and Nightlight.

Yeah there are minuscule differences in releases with a couple of the rainbow ponies. Moonstone and parasol were re-released with the second set of rainbow ponies and they tend to have slight differences. Also rainbow ponies from across the globe have slight differences due to batch differences. They were also released as mail orders too. So different batch differences and releases tend to make these notable variations for the rainbow ponies hard to keep track of. It doesn't really effect the value, unless someone is specifically looking for said variation and even then, it might only effect the value by a dollar or so!

Hope this helps!

That's not limited to rainbow ponies, I have several ponies of which I have duplicates because of symbol size differences. One of them is a Sparkler unicorn.
