I had decided after series 2 to stop collecting the minis and sold off nearly all of mine. I kept the 2 production glow peices, my 2 glow knockoffs, and the black commons of a few favorite characters.
I wanted so badly to resist series 3!! But I couldnt do it
I bought Nightmare Moon from someone on facebook, and Glow Celestia on ebay. Do not regret it one bit! Theyre awesome
Now I really want the full size NMM!

Thanks everyone! Once these show up in other stores, I'll try my luck at getting regular colored Celestia and Luna, then I'll be done with this series.

I did the same thing, solsticeadam! Sold off everything but the ones you named and I also kept crystal Discord because he looks awesome.  This series was just too good to pass up, though! It also helps that  the weight differences in the boxes makes it easier to tell who's who.

There are actual noticable weight differences in the boxes now? Great to know! Series 2 burned me so bad because the boxes I thought had the character I wanted ended being Daring Do boxes. Dx

I shook all 12 of the boxes just to be sure, but I know for sure there were 4 boxes that felt extremely light and the object inside of them moved around very freely, I'm assuming those were the CMC and Spike.  3 of them felt especially heavy and the object inside didn't move around much, those turned out to be Chrysalis, Nightmare Moon and Celestia.  Two of the boxes felt slightly lighter than the previous 3, and those two were Cheese Sandwich and Luna.

This probably has a lot to do with the fact that the characters included in this series vary greatly in size and shape.

Thanks for mentioning this! I had actually feared that the CMCs and Spike would be the same size as the others (so people won't "cheat"). xD

I may just decide to take a chance and buy one of the blind boxes after all.

I think there will be plenty loose on ebay for reasonable amounts since they are all 1/12 so not very rare.

Picked my order from the store yesterday
I got a full set and 6 extras
