Factory error Flutterpony?
« on: July 17, 2015, 12:06:25 PM »
So, a friend on the FB page I admin on has found this in a lot of ponies.  I think it may be a factory error since she has no plugs and her wing mechanism looks a little weird.  Can anyone tell us more about her and maybe give us a price check??

Oh I've seen these, these were those late G1 euro released flutter ponies that often had mismatched hair  or no hair at all and no wings (or even mount for them)

I believe it's a legit variant, a topic had been going not too long ago about them!

Was the lot from the UK? There have been a few that turn up here, sometimes with missing or mismatched hair and not always with the wing mechanism. They appear to be in the same vein as the princess and happy tail variants, though they are less popular.

Yeah, we are both in the UK. So I am guessing that this one is a little like the Bobby pony I keep hearing about then?

I think there is a MIB example in the Gallery I remember PKW or someone linking to the last time these got discussed. They are super weird, I'm very envious xD. None of these oddballs ever turn up in my area.

She would fall under the UK Princess/Happy Tails/ Flutter variations that were sold in £1 shops/Markets/Cheap shops in the UK at the end of the MLP line. The ponies were literally the left over parts cobbled together!

There are pictures in the nirvana gallery :)

Look closely at the boxes and the accessories, it really does look like they were using all the "rubble" that was left over.

They don't go for very much to be honest I would think $15-20.

Yep!!! Considering how high some of the other oddiest can go for it does seem funny they don't reach the same hights. However if she were MIB she would go for around $200 or so.

I think it is a combination of them being an acquired taste and there not being that much awareness about them. They are quite hard to find IMHO and are often crop up in lots listed as bait or broken so they go unnoticed.

Aww well, she's coming to stay with me :D

The seller was OK with the price in the end, she was just happy it wasn't a £2 bait :)

She is very cool!  And I'd agree with UK variant :)  I recently posted about a similar flutter I got from a UK lot years ago.  I'll share the link if you are interested :)

Its cool to see more and more of these girls pop up. Since they were discovered MIB its made classifying them from factory errors to genuine oddballs much easier. Congrats on her!
