Totally coincidental but I found lots of G3 girls when I was feeling most nostalgic about it.
(For some reason, G3 is my go-to gen for a pick me up.)

Congrats on your new ponies! I'm not good with G3 names, but the yellow one, the tie dye one, and that version of Cheerilee are especially pretty.

I can see why the G3 ponies help to cheer you up - they are such colourful designs (and they are often in better condition than G1s that you find in thrift stores and the likes).  Congrats on your finds
