What's Up with the Venny Ponies?

I'm just starting to really get into collecting Nirvana ponies and I'm wondering about the Venezuelan ponies.  I would like to add some to my collection eventually.  I'm especially interested in the Lickety-Split variants.

They seem to have popped up out of nowhere. Where did they come from all of a sudden?

Also, how common are they? Are some of them OOAK?
What can I expect to pay? Their prices seem to be all over the place sometimes.

Venezuelans are the newest discovered ponies, as far as different countries go.    I think we've known about them for...2, maybe 3 years?  Prices are all over the place, from $50 and up; MIB ones are a real gamble because customs ripped some open, they even cut several up!  I think a couple Starshine color combos are OOAK, but I can't remember offhand.

As lunar says, they are the most recent of the identified countries. There have been a few around in the community for many years, but without knowing where they were from. A few years back access to ponies there was opened up somewhat, particularly for MIBs (which I presume were old shop stock).

Some are more common than others, and there are some OOAKs aswell. Prices really do vary depending on which!

The squeaky ponies tend to sell for less, but as LadyG and lunar have said prices can vary and there are quite a few ooak ponies out there the supply from Venezuela is rather slow (the market was almost flooded in the beginning) so prices will fluctuate depending on who is after each pony.

The venezuela supply has really tapered off lately.

You're right Ember, it has. I think the big glut that dropped the prices was the bulk of what was easily accessible and suspect that prices will rise going forward (like with the Argies)

I think that warehouse must have been cleaned out.

I do notice now that the ponies popping up for sale on eBay from Venezuela are often ooak.
