Sunfading question
« on: April 20, 2015, 02:01:55 PM »
So I have a pony I want to sunfade...but in a 'normal' manner!

I have a G1 Sunspot (see through plastic with glitter) that I'd like to fade so that she's a little less orange and a bit more clear. Does anyone know how long that kind of fading might take please?
Thank you *wyvernchick* for my lovely avvie!

Oh yikes...you will need to be careful that you dont discolour her unfortunately. Because she is transparent she will have a colour additive in her plastic rather than actual coloured polymer so it works a little different. Her colour may fade out or she may become more opaque or she may discolour to a completely different shade. Unfortunately this is one you will need to monitor as you go - you will no doubt find different results for different ponies from different people.
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

Thanks for that link sd dreamcrystal - didn't know that about tinsel on the left hand side.

Daisy, this is a picture of a Star Dancer I have been sunfading. It's been in the window for about 3 months. Beware!visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Star, maybe you can give her a light dye bath? I'd do it more on the inside though than the outside, though I did hear you can cover the eyes and symbols with I guess hot glue to keep the dye off those spots.. never tried it myself

Oh I want her to go pale! I have an unintentional Star Dancer army. They are led by this cool dude with the mullet.

I was hoping to recreate the mystery of the green Star Dancers, but no dice.
