Monochrome Swap - Carousel Pony for MikeysGrrrl

MikeysGrrrl was my partner for the Monochrome Swap. She had a carousel pony on her list of ideas and I thought a carousel pony would look really pretty in monochrome, so I went with that. She listed blue as one of her favorite colors, and since it is also one of my favorite colors, I decided to work in blue.

The saddle and bridle were sculpted with apoxie. The body was airbrushed blue. I hand painted the saddle and bridle in a light blue. Her eyes are painted in shades of blue. Her hair is a blend of DollyHair's Atomic Turquoise and Forget Me Not. Since MikeysGrrrl's had actually list the idea as a "decked out carousel pony," I knew she needed some fancy extras to really make her stand out, so I added some ribbon, jewels, and flowers to her saddle and bridle.

Now that I know the pony has arrived safely at her new home I can share some pics of her.

Oh, wow, she's gorgeous! Wonderful job making the monochrome theme interesting. To me, she's just fancy enough--not too simple, not overly decked out. Who was she originally before you customized her? I bet MikeysGrrrl is very proud to own such a beautiful pony!

(I do have to agree with Roogna: a picture of her in front of a white backdrop would make her stand out more! Perhaps MikeysGrrrl could do a new-home photoshoot and share with us? )

She was originally Lickety-Split. Sorry about the photos, my sister is my photographer. The walls in the room we use to customize are blue. Maybe she figured the blue background would fit the theme or something.

I'm so excited that you chose to go with the carousel pony idea, I love the various shades of blue that were used, as well as the sculpting. She has just the right amount of bling. She turned out beautifully, thank you so much
