My epic pony quilt!

So several years ago, I decided that I wanted to make myself a pony quilt.  I am not an expert quilter and am entirely self-taught but I just wanted to do it so bad.  I bought some G3 fabric and a set of G1 bed sheets with the intention of using them in my quilt.  However, as happens, life gets in the way and I never got back around to trying to do the quilt.

Recently, I have decided that it was time to work on this project.  I pulled out all of the fabric I had saved up and bought additional G4 fabric.  But upon seeing the G1 sheets, I couldn't bring myself to cut them up.  I found online recipes and instructions how you can use your own printer to print on fabric.  So I determined to photograph the sheets and print out my own ponies for appliques.  And since I was going to do that, I decided to include all of the generations on my quilt, though it is primarily G1.  (Thanks to those who pointed me to some good quality pics of G2,  I'm sorry I can't remember who you are.)

Unfortunately, I didn't realize until well into the project that the ink in my printer is not the right kind to make the images permanent.  So the pony images are very delicate and cant be washed or the ink will come out.  Fortunately, this quilt was made more to look pretty on the bed in my pony room and not really to be used on a regular bases.

This is my first quilt in 10 years and only my 3rd over all.  I probably should have started with a smaller project but I just got too excited to focus on anything else.  So anyway,  even though it is far from perfect, I am extremely proud of it since I did it entirely by myself from start to finish.
