Green blueberry basket
« on: January 26, 2015, 08:16:58 PM »
Hope i am in the right area,
I have a childhood ( i think ) G1 blueberry basket that becomes green over the years! I always thought she is green till i join the arena and saw blue version. lol I want to brighten her up, i try oxybath and she is still green and dull. Any ways to brighten her up or make her more blue?

Doubtful, the plastic will leach the color out and their is no real way to get it back.  Can you post some photos though?

Sometimes sunfading can brighten up a blue pony that has yellowed.  If she is really discolored, though, you might not be able to reverse it.

Sunfading should work to freshen up the colour.  Put her in bright sunny windowsill for 2 to 3 days, make sure she doesn't get too warm or pop the head off if it's loose.  If it doesn't brighten the colour up considerably after just a few day I would try something else.

I had a very discolored Raspberry Jam from this set. With no hair, I set her out in a H202 bath in sun. It helped lighten the yellowing a bit. Unfortunately it doesn't seem that you can remove it completely. Yes, you could set her out to sunfade, just make sure you wrap her hair (h202 dries hair out). Good luck!

Unfortunately she is one of those colours that is prone to bad discolouration. It does depend what has caused the yellowing (why she is green). I would give sunfading a shot - it may fix the problem, it also may not. But its certainly worth a go. Its really the only thing known to make a difference in cases like this.

She's one of those scented ponies right? for what I have read they are prone to discolor because of the scented stuff

I don't like blueberry baskets but I love yours!  I would keep her that way and buy a regular blueberry baskets if you want one.

I think she's just beautiful in green, I'd totally keep her that way. Maybe I'll get lucky on ebay and find a blueberry baskets that went green like yours did :inlove:
