2015 Cosplay Goals! What are yours?

I'm sure I'm not the only one!  Since it's the beginning of a brand new year, that means I need to start working on my cosplays!  This year I'm going to be a little crazy and work on 3 different outfits for a convention I'll be attending in the middle of April.  Every year, I wait until the last minute to work on my outfits because I'm a master at procrastinating.  This year I want to get more of a head start on things.

So, I want to know what everyone's goals are for this year as far as cosplay goes.  This can also include any ideas you have for Halloween or any other occasion where you'll be dressing up.  I want to know!

As for me, these are the three cosplays I'll be focusing on:

Tony Tony Chopper from One Piece, time-skip look.

Chopper, again, in the second arc after the time-skip. One of the other crew members was stuck inside of his body, hence the face he has on his hat.

Charlotte from Puella Magi Madoka Magica, in her second form. Gonna do a human-ish version of this.

I may or may not throw in a pony related cosplay for the My Little Pony Fair, but we'll see how I feel after working on these 3.

Along with this, another related goal of mine is to be in better shape for the convention.  Anyone who attends cons knows that there's a lot of walking around involved.  I get absolutely winded after such a short time walking, and this needs to be fixed!  So exercise is a must this year- and I've already started on that, so I'm on the right track!

my cosplay goals is:
Fix my sister's Serenity Wedding Dress -she forgot to plan for slight weight gain and we popped the zipper D":
.. loose weight to fit in costumes better -we are worms that are lazy-
Finish putting together an outfit to go with my fox ears and tail set so I can have an actual 'costume outfit' for them. I love the fact I can just..wear them with anything thou

Might make a Rarity cosplay to go with my sister's Apple Jack cosplay/make/get a better tail for sister's cosplay.

but right now thats only if we end up going to DCC this year, other wise its just fix up her dress some how and possibly sell my Pluto

Zelda from Hyrule Warriors, Snow white, maybe Astrid from HTTYD2, Madoka or Homura from Madoka Magica, and someone from Killa Kill. Actually, I'm probably making a lot of the costumes from Killa Kill and entering them into a contest.

1) Sailor Jupiter + some kind of cool prop to help me stand out. (I looove making props)

3) Either Adagio Dazzle or Sunset Shimmer for the pony fair

4) Finish up the tiny details on my 2014 Elsa that never got finished. (because I'm sure I'll wear it again)


+  of course trying to lose a little weight so I don't look dumpy in my skin tight body suit for Jupiter.

I'm doing Armin from Attack on Titan and L from Death Note at my next con.  I've done a bit for Armin, but I need to get cracking since the con is gonna be here before I know it.  I'm relatively unconcerned about L because he is going to be pretty easy, so I haven't started him yet.  Depending on time and money I'll do Kaneki Ken from Tokyo Ghoul in his coffee shop uniform for that same con.  If not, it won't be the end of the world and I'll just do him for a cosplay meet or something later.

I also want to do Hinata from Haikyuu!! or Kuroko from Kuroko no Basket at some point this year, but I'll probably wait for summer to do that.  Either of those costumes would be a bit chilly for my next con since it would just be shorts and a sports jersey!

I wish everyone luck with their cosplays!  Sounds like we all have a lot to do.  I'm thinking I may post progress pictures at some point, so it'd be cool to see some others, too.

As a huge fan of both Sailor Moon and Avatar, I love love LOVE your cosplay goals!  Whenever I get back in shape and lose some more weight, I'd like to do a Sailor Mars cosplay and maybe Korra.

I need to either entirely remake my clone trooper armor OR convince my mom to sew a training uniform. My armor is in bad shape, mainly the thigh plates don't fit right (left one stabs me in the back of my knee, causing me to limp noticeably). I have pics of it...I think.

It is not a full-body pic, but that's a good thing. The day I did this particular photo, it was 75-80 degrees outside and as a result, I was wearing shorts (You can't tell that from the picture)

I dearly want to remake it to make the marking pattern of one of my OCs, ARC commander Eli. That will/would require paint-stripping the helmet I have (It has Captain Rex's markings) and repainting it.

Speaking of my armor, I was trying to figure out what materials would work well that me and my mom can afford. Anyone know anything that could make good clone trooper armor? I used cardboard covered in white fabric with blue duct tape for the markings on this one. I also want to get the straps that hold the armor on on the inside of the pieces to make it look more realistic.

what about the flexible foam paper stuff?
I'll be using that to make astrid's metal shoulder pads.
no way i'll be using metal ones.
it will have better give, and you can layer them for durability.
no fabric needed.

wish my mom liked my costumes. she just asks me... how much it cost or how much time i'm putting in.
she's more approving of ponies. at least they have a resale value

For my Mandalorian armor, I use Sintra! It's a type of PVC plastic that is often used in sign making. If you have a sign shop nearby, they may have scraps that they will give you for cheap (or free). Otherwise, it can be bought at arts and crafts shops or online. It's easy to bend when it's heated up, and it takes paint like a dream!

Rosierjay, are you talking about Worbla? I hear that stuff is great.
