What do you tell people?

When some ones asks you how in the world do you spend an entire day on the internet? Better yet; How do you waist a day on the internet and spent very little of it on Face Book?

I usually am the annoying one who returns them the question backwards. How do you waist a day doing nothing but watch TV all day?

If they really bug me about it though I just tell them I have amazing friends on the Forums. I also like to read so that is kind of a given that I like to read the news on the internet and chat. I can spend hours reading a recipe's on the net too. I often times find that they need fixing. Like the salt/suger to volume ratio. People put too much salt in their food in my opinion but the recipes on the net can be really worthy of trying something different.  Like Chocolate chip caramel bacon cookies

I've never been asked, either. I do spend waaayyyy too much time on the internet, and it feels weird, but it's just so natural for me now, I guess. There's just too much to do on the computer and internet.

My dad just says things about the family all sitting in the living room together tapping on their phones or laptops so I snap at him about also being on his device. It gets me angry now and I get snippy.

I haven't been asked that since high school when I lived in the AOL chat rooms.  One of my friends was absolutely baffled by it, but I still talk to some of those people, and I don't talk to her anymore, so it was time well spent, lol. I bet those same people facebook on their phones all day long anyway.

I usually get the, "how do you work so much without keeling over? Or how many jobs/hours did you work this week?" I have no dignified response those questions besides that I have no life and sometimes the dog forgets who I am...

I tell them that the Internet is required for my job - which it is...   I work with several VPNs each day so  it's pretty easy to spend a day on the internet.    Now if you were to ask me, "How do you spend all day with your head buried in a database?", yeah that would be more accurate since it's not something that most people have the sanity to do.

Who on earth do you speak to who is so cheeky? I say dump them as friends, family or acquaintances and move on with your life. Love the internet! Live the internet! THE INTERNET ROCKS, DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't say I've heard of this question being asked as often anymore. I think as our society becomes accustomed to the new technologies surfacing,
people are getting more used to seeing people use them. :)

If it helps, you can always think about how people asked their friends this question....about cars in the late 1910's.

"looking at stuff"  "reading comics"  "reading articles..oh you know lost in the internet again." "learning how to make marbled paper or some other kind of crafty craft"
I wish I had the luxury of being able to goof off on the internet all day.  Sigh.  Must be nice.

I haven't had anyone ask me that either. Usually when I'm online I'm making lesson plans as well or it's a time like now when the rats are out playing, and I'm laying in the floor on my phone. Actually at my computer and not working? Not so much, but I also like to be really active. I couldn't sit all day at my pc I would go insane.

No one has really asked me this. I used to spend like......12+ hours a day online. Now I'm online maybe 1 or 2 hours a day.
