My glitterbelle is different.
« on: December 18, 2014, 12:40:45 PM »
Hello, well, I was seeing my little wiki and realized something, my glitterbelle and totally different from that described on the site, she and Trucks, and may have lost their sparkles but I see many ponies that still has, would restore it, and the most worrying, she and pink, the site and purple, my meche the head sideways, as if there were no glue on the head, it worries me since she has the metallic symbol of my little pony, someone would know because it be so, and I want to restore its luster, if someone knows how to do, please tell me. Thank you. :lovey:

The G3 glitter ponies are notorious for the plastic 'eating' the glitter and turning a more opaque colour. There isn't anything you can do unfortunately to make her look like she used to look. It's getting a lot harder to find nice glitter ponies. I know mine have started to go like this too.

I know some of my glitter ponies aren't as nice looking as they once were - not sure on the reason.  But this sounds pretty accurate on what some of mine have gone through -  maybe there is something you can do to make them look a little nice, I'm not sure.

She is lovely :)

But yes as Archer says, over the years the glitter simply dissolves within the plastic and gives the pony a slightly milky-ish colour as opposed to the transparency of before.
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

I have one very close to her also. What is weird it that some still look new and some look like our ponies!

Well, now wanted to know because it dissolves and what to do to avoid this, the problem and the weather or moisture, so that the next can still have the brightness

There isn't anything you can do to prevent it or stop it.  It is a flaw in the vinyl when it was manufactured.

It's a bit like regrind you see on G1 ponies. Nothing can be done with that either and both are due to changes in the plastic they were made of.
