@Karma would I just need to drain and refill with fresh distilled water? My 5yo is going to love it--snowglobe AND ponies!

Yup! Maybe give it a nice wash, too.

A lot of Precious Moments figurines have a small hole in the bottom, but I could easily plug that with some waterproof caulking/epoxy/glue/etc.

But this information has been great!

Just remember to fill it with the apoxie. If you just cover it, the air pocket inside will ruin it.

OOO!!  How about wet the inside of the figure and add Gorilla Glue?  That could expand and fill the space.  Also awesome for after rehairing pony heads.

So long as what's inside the figure doesn't make the figure float, it's all good.

Now I also need to remember what I used to glue Cadence and Shiny to the bottom of the globe.  I know it was not Gorilla 'cause that didn't hold...

So, need to find something to plug the inside with that won't float, and also something to attach the figurine to the base with. Got it. :)

Well enabler started "fixing" the snow globe. I will be cleaning glitter up FOREVER....also I will probably be picking glitter out of his beard for a while.

....so much glitter.... I got squirted in the face with glitter water earlier... found out the hard way that we had it too full. Also, found out after filling it with water, letting the excess water dry, and putting glue on, that I had the plug in the wrong position, and was not pushed in far enough so it pushed itself out and unsealed itself from the glue.

I had no idea, going in, how it should look installed, because it was never installed correctly at a point where we had opened it up and able to see it. So, for the others that might have this particular globe/issue, there is a slight lip on the rubber plug and a matching indention on the base of the globe where the lip needs to be able to seat. Our original problem (not that we knew it at the time) was that it would either not push in far enough to seat, or it would push past the lip area. Had no air bubble in it at all originally. After redoing it, discovered that in order for it to seat properly it needed to have enough of an air bubble to allow the plug to have room inside the globe as well as be able to relieve some pressure.

So, it is currently sitting upside down drying out from the water that spilled (lovely glitter water -_- ) and once it dries I will be gluing it back down again hopefully with better luck the second time. On a side note, E6000 takes forever to cure.

Okay, so here come the pictures!!

So, this is what the base/plug looks like outside of the waterglobe, for those wondering.

The supplies.

Disassembled and ready to put glycerin and distilled water back in.

This is only being shown because this is how ours looked, for the most part, when I took it all apart. This is NOT how it is supposed to go (found out the hard way... also, see first image for the lip on the base... it matches up with the inside of the globe... hopefully everyone else's is a better fit than ours)

Thought it was ready to dry and be glued down at this point (after getting squirted in the face with glitter water)... I was wrong. It should have been pushed down inside more.

Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture of the inside after I got the base/plug seated properly. Dummy.

After it was all said and done, we have a slight air bubble in it, but it couldn't be helped. Every time I tried putting the plug in with enough water to not have an air bubble, I would get squirted with glitter water or the plug would go through the base of the globe and I'd have to pry it back outside of the neck of the globe and start over... too much pressure inside I think. Plus, the glitter didn't shake around very much when there was no bubble.

At any rate, it is now one of a kind since it has some new star shaped glitter to fill in for a little bit of the flower shaped glitter we lost.
