A lot of the commercially sold cookies have preservatives up the wazoo, and will stay fresh-tasting for long periods of time if their packaging remains sealed.  I just ate the cookie in the set I bought - it was like one of those soft 'n chewy Chips Ahoy, or whatever they're called.  Good, but definitely had that "food additive" taste to it.  ;)

I like the retro art, but I wish they'd start using the vintage designs.  These new eyes are just...wrong.
