in need of inspiration...

So, I'm thinking of entering a pumpkin carving contest or two, but I can't seem to think of anything to carve! 
One contest I want to enter with the most spectacular carved pumpkins in two senses... one that's what you think of with the standard carved pumpkin and one thats the "sculpted" kind of carved pumpkin.
So, if you were the judge of a contest, what would make you think "That's the one!"

I dunno. I tend to make hubby carve ponies.

Id just go for what you like.  Just make sure the design isn't overly complex or you risk doing too much damage to the pumpkin

I would go with something that you know will keep you motivated.

I ended up doing a skull and an attempt at Chernabog, but I was so tired after the skull I didn't do well on that one Here's a picture of the skull though!
