Caring for custom ponies
« on: October 18, 2014, 10:00:06 PM »
I have made several custom  ponies from rehairing  with new and eyes/symbols to full body repaints and some with epoxy sculpt on them. They are becoming 'flockies' so how would be the best way to wash them? I also have  some resin wings epoxied into 3 of the ponies ( one has wings but they can be removed) I don't want to destroy the work I put into them any advice?,  thanks.

What an excellent question!  With many of the products we use on ponies being water soluble, we have to be careful cleaning them!  I typically get a very lightly damp washcloth and dab carefully in small doses.  As in, dab an area and let it dry before dabbing it again.  Hopefully some other artists will have even better tips and tricks for this!  I would definitely avoid any chemicals.

I agree with CSA, very gentle touch with a damp soft cloth.
Or just go for a air tight plastic display cube... :o)
