This is why I hate buying MIB Ponies!
« on: October 05, 2014, 04:48:45 AM »
I recently won a Romper on eBay for a decent price -sure the box was a little banged up but I haven't gotten myself a MIB for a while - well not since the TAF Megan with the glow and the dark mold growing all over her dress fiasco....
http://www.ebay.com/itm/My-Little-pony-happy-tails-ponies-034-Romper-034-G1-never-out-of-box-/151418758039?nma=true&si=bLtQA5hBcxTBuSkqQD9f3ttLkwY%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
I got the package yesterday.... and I'm heartbroken...

What is wrong with sellers!!!

First she's not even in a bubble mailer - which would have been just as bad. Nothing protecting her at all. Her box was pretty much destroyed. It won't even stand up anymore.

So pretty much I just bought her Mint with all accessories now...Which I wouldn't have paid more than $15 for.

wholy crap!

have you contacted the seller  about it?
I'd be asking for  a rather hefty refund on that.

Ivy that is absolutely terrible!

I never will understand some people's way of thinking, when it comes to shipping items. They apparently have never experienced the damage that can and will happen with USPS.

I seriously hope your seller compensates you. If not I would be opening a item not as described case ASAP.

The seller also sold 4 other MIB Happy Tales at the same time I bought mine. Hopefully they arrived in better condition -though if they were packaged like mine I doubt it....

Wow, that is horrible! I would be so upset. :/ I really hope the seller works with you to fix this. How can anyone think a MIB item from the 80's would be ok in anything other than a good BOX??

Ivy, I've had this experience lately but not to your extent. I don't get why some of the sellers on ebay don't think about how they ship items! It's ridiculous! My MIL had a good point in that when we buy vintage/antique items, we have to spell it out as to how they ship or our items get ruined.
Hopefully the seller will be apologetic and give you a refund.

This happened to me too. I sent the seller a polite message about it (didn't even ask for a partial refund) and in return I got a rant about how "This would be the last time he ships overseas as it's just too much trouble"
Some people. I'm so sorry about your Tossles.

Oh wow Ivy :( That really sucks. I hope your seller is nice about it. Update us!

Sebby, that is rude and awful of your seller. It has nothing to do with overseas shipping but how badly he packages things! :(

What a nightmare!

This happened to be before with a Monster High doll.
I bought a MIB Rochelle Goyle and when she arrived she was in a bag similar to the one yours was in here.  Her box was dented and torn, not quite so badly as yours however.
I messaged the seller and I was met with a reply of "It wasn't like that when I sent it", needless to say I was not impressed.

I hope you can get some sort of partial refund or something.

Funny how, in all the things I've received from overseas, I've yet to have anything damaged because, hey, smart people put things in boxes with bubblewrap

I really hope your seller doesn't try to just pin it on the post service
Idly searching for: loose, good condition G4 Blossomforth, Starbeam Twinkle, Plumsweet. TTM Celestia doll's wings Within UK or EU only, please.

It is becoming more and more disheartening to even order things online anymore.

Although I haven't had anything really collectible ruined like this, I have recently had a number of things arrive to me damaged due to similar types of inadequate packaging methods. What's worse is that you would think major businesses like Amazon.com would have enough common sense to know how things need to be packaged to avoid damage, but they have been the worst offenders and despite the number of complaints they have gotten from not only me but a whole slew of people who have been having the same problem, they have done nothing to prevent these problems from continuing, and it is for this reason that I haven't been ordering anything from them anymore.

Even with eBay though, If I'm ordering a vinyl LP or anything collectible I now will email the seller before I buy anything to verify how it will be packaged before being shipped. I've unfortunately had too many problems with this sort of thing to risk it happening to an item that I can't easily get a replacement of. The way I see it is even if I get a refund for a damaged collectible, that's still 1 less of that item in existence and if it was something rare or 1 of a kind than you cannot simply just get another one.

I recently bought a MIB Blossomforth off eBay who came to me in a bubble mailer. Thankfully, the only damage that occurred was to the tab, but it's still very annoying nonetheless. You'd think it would be common knowledge to properly package a boxed item.
