I feel so sorry for this poor maligned pony! I'm not bothered about particularly collecting nirvana's, but I have an Italian lickety split. I'd totally add this cutey to my collection when you get her back cos I feel sad for her!

I thought if they have altered the item they can't return it? Since its not returning in the same condition it was sent it?

Good point!!  I wonder what ebay would say.  If this was MY pony someone was returning I would be very unhappy about the broken neck seam.  I don't like them unsealed.

I don't agree with what has happened at all and I don't think this pony is a rehair and i am just going slightly of topic but i just have to put it out there in nirvana world beheading a pony (with no harm to the plug) doesn't devalue a pony. Many collectors will pop heads of very expensive ponies to make sure there is nothing yuck lurking in there or to check to see if its not a rehair (sadly to many collectors have been sold undisclosed rehaired ponies) so I don't think the price of the pony is lowered i don't think its an issue.
I do feel for you thou zora, the buyer is very wrong in this case

Exactly.  I'm not a major nirvana buyer by any means, but a popped head would not cause me to pay any less for a very nice pony.  I think neck seals are becoming a must less and less because it's just impossible in general.  There are still some collectors who must have seals, and that's fine, but I don't think it'll affect your value long as she hasn't damaged the actual pony.  If there's damage, well, I would suggest calling ebay and throwing an unholy fit.

I'll go a bit OT, but I had a lady who let her child poke the eyes out of an antique doll and then scammed me to return it, saying it was damaged in mail.  Yeah, no, eyelashes don't get pulled out of a doll in transit.  But the doll was basically destroyed because there's no way to fix it, so I really tossed a fit on ebay, trust me, and they did end up giving me a $100 selling coupon.  The doll was $130, and I was luckily able to reuse the body with a head with good eyes, and was able to mostly mitigate my losses.

I don't know that it would affect the value, but it still would bother me if that is not the condition I sent it to her in, if that makes sense.

Sounds like she has buyer's remorse and is just trying to find an excuse to send the pony back. I doubt it has anything to do with believing you or the other far more knowledgeable collectors than she is out there. Where I work I see a lot of buyer's remorse and hear a lot of excuses that add up to nothing. But I can tell you're a great seller by handling this the way you have. Your pony is lovely and you have done absolutely nothing wrong. It's just a lost cause and your pony is better off with a collector who will appreciate her.

I'd like to know how the buyer thinks you made the "extra" hair plug holes disappear since the pony "doesn't have enough".  Was it magic, or . . .?

Could you PM me the name of this person? I would rather not deal with them.

good news is that she has a lot of buyers when you get her back!! i'm sorry about your buyer. :(

I'm glad that you received Bowtie back . I'd also appreciate if you could PM me the name of this buyer. This is not someone I'd want to deal with.

I wonder if the buyer ever removed the head in the first place?

I am glad she arrived back safely to you. I do hope your buyer in the future though, perhaps educates herself a bit more before her next Nirvana purchase.  ;)
