Poste Italiane Tracking Question?
« on: August 23, 2014, 06:55:38 PM »
I've got a pony coming from Italy with tracking (apparently you can't get insurance between Italy and Australia *shrug*) but I'm a little concerned about what the tracking information is telling me. Is my package still sitting postponed in Milano, or is this a case of tracking information not being updated? I'm a little worried because she's a pricy pony and I'd be crushed if something were to happen to her. The seller has 100% positive feedback, it's the post office I don't trust, especially since it's been almost 3 weeks with no tracking updates.

I recently received something sent registered for from Italy and it never updated either. Just kept getting that same message as you until one day the parcel arrived. 3 weeks does seem long, but then you are in Australia.

Thanks for the reassurance Sebby :)
I figure now that I've made this post she'll probably turn up in the post tomorrow (Hal's law), fingers crossed!

Hi!
RINVIATO doesn't mean Postponed, it's just a term used by Poste Italiane to say it has been sent to the international shipping center.
Usually it's partially tracked and you will see when the item has been shipped, when it will reach the country of destination and when it has been delivered.

In my experience, shipments from Italy to Australia usually takes 15 working days. Consider also that here in Italy the 15 and the 16 of August is national holiday^_^

If i can be of any help just pm me ^_^

Hugs!

Thanks for your help SoSilver :)
I've had ponies sent from Italy with no issues in the past too so hopefully yours should arrive as well Tulips - it just might take a bit longer since you are in Australia. I think most countries can be a bit hit and miss as to if and when they update the tracking

What type of tracking number do you have?
Does it start with "R" or "E"?   If you give me the first 2 letters I can provide more info.
The last 2 letters should be IT.

The first 2 letters of the number  will tell us more about how this package will track, especially when it gets into Australia.   :)

I'm kind of assuming she'll just turn up any day now without the tracking updating, it wouldn't be the first time lol.

Hi Tulips,  RA indicates that the item is "Registered Post International"  Which will require a signature on arrival.    ( Similar product to the Registered Post International we have here in Australia)
Travel time can be up to 3 weeks on average.  You also have customs time which is out of Post Office Control.  Here in Australia that can vary.

Registered Intl items cannot be tracked on the Aus Post website, however they can be tracked internally.

You can call AusPost Customer Service on 131318 and ask them look that up for you, they will be able to tell you whether or not the package has arrived in Australia as yet.

Hope your package arrives soon :)

Thanks Sparkle. If she doesn't turn up some time this week I might just give Aus Post a call and see if they've got anything on her. :)

She arrived today, haha I knew if I posted a question she'd turn up faster. :P
I'll probably end up posting a brag once I've stopped freaking out about her.
