My first pony was G1 Little Rattles, bought for me by my sister when I was two years old.  I've been collecting ever since!

As a little girl I was brought up when G1 were on the shelf and now as a collector it was trying to find those G1 childhood characters who got me collecting. So G1 all the way here. :)
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

After Watching FIM first 2 seasons , I did not look for the Toys right away, It had been a couple of months and while browsing for my nieces birthday , I came across the ponies at a discounted/discontinued store :), RD and Fluttershy Ride alongs, I was going to get only 1 , then walked back and got them both.
at first I was like ,they look so cool , I want them :)  ,then I put them back , I was like what are you going to do with ponies ? I said to myself, I will just put them by my PC in my office, some Decoration never hurts and well , they look great :), they had been left in their package ( back in my mind I was thinking to return them ) but a week later I opened them up and there was a coupon inside for 10 % off ,I went to the Hasbro site and saw there were more ,so I ordered everything there was in there LOL

My very first pony was G4 Fluttershy, followed by some minifigures. Next brushable after Fluttershy was TRU Zecora gifted by a friend.

G1 Merry-go-Round "Flower Bouquet"  :)

Saw her at PonyCon 2013 whilst actually looking for ponies that Clare was searching for, thought she was lovely and different to all the others, so after a quick lesson on MGR ponies I set about looking for the others. Found Sunny Bunch, Brilliant Blossoms and Tassels at the 'Con and eventually got Sparkler and Diamond Dreams via Ebay  :newpony:

Sorry but can't resist posting this photo of them all together, Flower Bouquet is the white one  ;)

I actually can't remember who my first pony was!  :lmao:
But I can remember my first pony as a collector, G4 Pinkie Pie  ^.^
I got her when G4's had just been released and chose her because she was my favourite pony from the show.  :)

I can't say for sure, but I think the first pony I bought was the Blind Bag Twilight here. I may have bought it with a Fluttershy as well, but I do not remember. Although I started watching MLP about six months before I started buying the merch.

It's kind of funny, when I started to get into this, I said to myself "Okay, I'll watch the show, but I'm not buying any of the toys."  Then I got a few blind bags and I told myself, "Okay, I'll get blind bags, but no brushables." Then I got a Celestia/Pinkie pack. And when EqG came out, I thought, "Okay, I'll buy lots of kinds of pony merch, but I am not getting a doll." It wasn't until last month that I cracked and got one. Although in that case, they stopped looking creepy to me and actually sort of cute, in some cases.

A secondhand Glory and Peachy, given to me when I was four by the owner of a thrift store my mom and I were shopping at because I liked them so much. That was in about '89 or early '90; I bought many more G1s until they went out of production here and received them from thrift stores when my mom could find them. My mom tells me there was this awesome toy-centered thrift shop that basically had a whole bin of ponies, kind of like you'll find bins of Barbies in thrift stores today. What I'd give to go back in time, lol! :dribble:

Around 1997, spurred by the G2 line, I got online and discovered I could buy ponies online. And the rest is history. :)

My first as a kid was a G1 Applejack, seeing G4 Applejack brought back fond memories of my childhood Applejack   so she got me started collecting ponies as an adult. So really it's all Applejack's fault.
