The bling, baby. I love ponies but I am quite shallow when it comes to the shiny stuff so it would be jewellery for me.

I'd take the ponies I don't care much for jewellery and all my friends and the man on my side know that I am more of a practical person. I hate cut flowers, thoughtless and useless gifts and only wear my jewellery on special occasions - so only a couple of times a year but my collection is an everyday joy.

I really like jewelry but mostly just cheaper costume stuff. Expensive jewelry just makes me nervous. It's not a huge deal if a $10 necklace gets damaged/lost/stolen. Plus cheaper stuff is usually more fun and pretty to me, so why spend a paycheck (or two, or three!) on something that I can get much cheaper and enjoy more?

I am exactly the same way. I love jewelry, but I don't wear a lot of precious stuff because I'm afraid of losing or damaging it, or worse, having it stolen! I have a lot of my grandma's old stuff, but I don't usually wear it for that reason. Sometimes I'll put on her cheaper stuff, but not her really nice, really beautiful and valuable vintage things.

I mean, if my boyfriend were to get me anything at all I would be happy and appreciative of the gift, but I would be especially flattered if he really went out of his way to find me a pony. It tells me that he listens to me. He actually did give me a big box of ponies for Christmas and I keep them separate from the rest of my collection, because they are special. I'd prefer a rare nirvana over a fancy necklace any day.

Wasn't there someone here whose boyfriend proposed to her by giving her a Mimic with the ring on the leg? I'm not sure if you're still posting, Mimic Girl, but just know that I personally found that story to be extremely cute and romantic.

Jewelry- I'm fiercely practical sometimes to a fault! That at least has some more reliable resale value and also it can become an inheritance piece. Unfortunately, there's no guaranteeing my children will love ponies! Also, this is super biased because I'm not a big rare pony hunter

BUT to be fair neither of this applies to me, because a) I'm not a huge collector b) I don't like 'real' diamonds, lab grown is fine- for my someday-ring, I want a meteorite!

I have never liked Watches,Rings,Necklaces ,I do love expensive shades and  expensive frames for my glasses but I learned my lesson after loosing so many of both
I just stopped a while back buying them is just a pain to loose them or damage them .
