which generation curls / styles best

For me its g3/ g1.
It really hold the curls well and reacts to the treatment well.

Well, G1 and G3 have the most hair... so that makes sense. I mean other than styling sized G4s, which I've never tried to style because I don't own one. I can only imagine the look my kids would give me if I borrowed one of their G4s and tried to style it!

I find g1's are so much easier to keep a curly style in than g3's.
But g3's are easier for a straight style that lays nice and flat and the ones I've found second hand generally have very little frizz to their hair as well...

Probably G3's for me. I don't have enough G1's to really know and playful pony sized G4's are difficult to style due to how short they are compared to how long their hair is. Even if it styles fine, it tends to rest awkwardly on whatever surface they're left on which can make the curl go kinda funky after being on display for a while. G2's seem to be pretty good for loose curls like neck curls.

G3 seems to hold curls longer for me, then G1/G2/G4.

It varies for me for some reason I've had G3s and G1s both lose their curl and keep their curl. I have two different Sugar Sweet's and one kept her curl and the other's fell out. Weird

As for G4s, playful ponies are so hard to style because they're so small! Especially the babies! But Fashion Styles are much easier and hold curl very well

G1s for me The hair just seems to style better. Although I only add curls to ponies which had them originally but usually they hold very well with the right technique.

Yes it happens sometimes , mostly with G4 FS the Rainbow Power Rarity is like that   but not the Flusttershy FS Rainbow power !
