Dyeing questions! Help!
« on: January 31, 2014, 08:32:19 PM »
I wanted to try dyeing a custom instead of painting, but I'm a bit nervous. The only white G4 being sold is a unicorn, so if I wanted to dye a pegasus or a regular pony I'd be working over their base body colour. Will that affect the outcome of the dye a lot?

Does anyone have experiences with this they can share? I've only ever painted customs so far and I'm new to dyeing, so please give me any stories or links to tutorials or anything you've got!

I've never successfully dyed a g4 pony.  I always have experienced large areas of void (usually around the neck and head) that did not take the dye.  I have also experienced the head and body taking the dye differently.  I use rit dye.  I have attempted:g4 molded, g4 bb, and g4 brushable.  That's just me though.

G3 take dye fine for me, but the color faded darkened up after a few days and faded over time.  All and all I am not a fan. *sad face*
I'm not really on here anymore. Email me if you need my for something.
