Costume contest questions

[Iris Patch]

I have a question for this.  I have an RD full body mascot suits, and my two friends have Twilight and Pinkie Pie mascot suits.  If I am not mistaken, this is a Hasbro official event, so would we have to fire off an email to the event coordinators and ask for permission to wear these kind of costumes?  Reason why I ask is because we don't want to be mistaken as officially part of the convention.

I'm not sure if its been done like that for previous years.

Jud, we need a photo together! I'm going to be in a mascot-styled fursuit as well and I HOPE to stick my husband in one too if I have time to make another.

interesting, you are good iris! and i didn´t knew that fursuits are considered cosplay too!  ( thought that fursuiters don´t like cosplayers, especially on thier conventions.)

I don't think there is any stigma between furries and cosplayers... in fact, there is a lot of overlap (I can't count the number of fursuits with Naruto headbands I've seen). At furry cons during the day I'll usually cosplay as a human character or pony gijinka, then later I'll suit up and be a wolf.

As far as costumes go, I keep in mind that there are always kids there so I wouldn't want anything hanging out or something too too short. Decent but fun, no Hot for your Hubby Sexy costumes would get my vote 

That sort of brings up something I've been wondering... I have a Future Twilight cosplay (humanized, not a fursuit-style costume) that I'm just not sure if it's too... extreme to wear at the Fair. xD Think a catsuit like Black Widow from the Avengers wears. Too much, you think?

The Future Twilight might be a little too much, but you can always contact the Fair staff and ask if to be sure!

Goodness though, people showing up in full fursuits? Goodbye slight chances at getting a ribbon! XDDD

Break for water. Lots of breaks for water. Some people manage to put little fans in their heads. I am not so lucky x_x

It's really not so bad once you start sweating. Each costume has its own limitations that you have to learn, and take breaks as needed. I construct mine so they're super comfy to see and breathe out of, well, for a fursuit anyway. Ventilation is out the mouth, eyes, and sometimes ears if I feel like installing ear vents.

have a     mouth  that you can keep open tog et air.. and  drink lots of water stay  hydrated.  they   can  get  very very hot. vey quickly.  i dont have a   fan in mine either but i enjoy it.

I can't decide between being Nightmare Moon and Scootaloo.  I have the hair for Scoots (pixie cut, woo!) but I have most of a costume for NMM, so....
