I just tried to time travel, need gems. But I couldn't. I changed the date on my iPad went into the game, all the shops had their icons above them so the game knew that time had passed but the bit at the beginning that says how many days you have been playing didn't appear. I tried a few times but it didn't work. I can no longer get gems through time travel. Anyone else having this problem?

I´m new!! I had the game many months ago but with one update it stoped to work fine in my dad´s celular phone. Now he bought a Samsung S4 and I can play again! There are lots of new things to me: canterlot and the EG game

I downloaded the game 2 days ago, but I see the main cahracters with halloween costumes, and twilight isn´t an alicorn   someone know what is the reason for that?

Valerie: To answer your question, you have "quests" to complete to activate game changing stuff.  It sort of follows the actual cartoon in timeline, but if you complete Canterlot Quests before the Ponyville ones you can activate later stuff first.  Just keep completing the quests and you will get everything eventually.

And you are sooooo lucky you are coming to the game later.  I was on early enough to have to pay DOUBLE the gems and hearts for ponies and shops. 

A good way to get gems if your time travel "daily bonus" is not working is to time travel and just "defeat" changlings in Canterlot,  I don't know the exact ratio, but they seem to drop gems about 1 in 3.  It's how I got all the Halloween stuff.

Unless you're like me and hoard your changelings protectively because the game never ever generates any new ones, nor parasprites, nor rocks, even when it gives you a quest to get rid of them and they haven't existed in months...

I don't have any problem with the time travel. Are you sure you are doing it right? I used it properly for first time a couple of days ago and for one day managed to get ~100 gems! But now I'm all out of loyalty shards and my Canterlot is cluttered with red changelings
(What did I spent my shards on....Ah yeah, bought the Observatory and Twilight's carriage-thing, because of the quests)
I'm sorry I didn't try it earlier. I could have bought more of the Halloween stuff... Well, at least I got the ponies
