Organising my sewing room

I am getting a lot done today but I am having trouble with this;

I have sewing patterns for cloths and they take up a lot of surface area. Those of you who sew; where do you store your patterns that are too big to put in a box?

Maybe find some way to hang them in a closet?

Could you not fold them up?

My sewing patterns are made out of paper and folds are a night mare to get out. Although the idea of keeping them in my closet is an idea. It was my first thought but never kept them from getting folded. I think tacking them to the wall would keep them flat. I just thought of that when I read your post Eviecorn. Not exactly hanging but better.

I roll mine up.

I know its a pain to get them to stay down when unfolded..but that's where creative compromise kicks in

I have to always put my patterns away when I'm not working due to my cat. She thinks patterns are her own personal play toys of choice lol. I do the roll-up thing with mine too, just very loose rolls and instead of a rubber band I tie a string around them. That way I can control how loose a roll I get. Then I just put them in the closet all nice and stacked If I know I'm going to be working on something then I get out the pattern and lay it out (kitty gets locked out of the room) for awhile so it can relax and flatten back out.

I bought one from a local distributor for family to store artwork in that can't be stacked or rolled without damage. Everything hangs & barely rubs, but rubbing would be less of an issue with sewing patterns I'd imagine.

I got the A0 trolley & a few clamps - it's wonderful.
A bit expensive (about $250 - $300) but is more valuable than an ikea shelf of the same value.

The only better solutions I have found are elite storage racks that cost thousands.

what if you just got a big portfolio folder?

that trolly looks awesome though High Flutter, i wish i could afford something like that for my art xD
