new FiM fabric spotted at JoAnn!

FINALLY! After I dropped my 4yo off at preschool this morning, I stopped by JoAnn to get some minky to make a Rarity plushie. My BFF and I were just complaining the other day how much it sucks that JoAnn doesn't have ANY MLP fabric (they did earlier in the summer, the 'Horsin' Around' print, but that sold out within days). I walked down the character fabric aisle, and lo and behold! There is fleece with Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, and Princess Twilight Sparkle! It's really pretty, just wish all of the Mane 6 were featured.

BUT...it's $14.99 a freaking yard!  Guess I'll be crossing my fingers for a 60% off sale AND a 20% off your total purchase coupon! Sheesh.

I love my Fabricland card...at least 20% off all fabric all the time. I hope we get some of the pony fabric! (And some minky. I wanted to practice plushie making with fleece first, and now that I'm confident enough to step up to minky, I can't find any!)

Ouch even for fleece that's pretty high. I've been waiting for some store to have a good regular cotton material with ponies. Maybe someday.

I hope my local store gets some in. They got one bolt of the horsin' around fabric last year around Christmas. It sold quickly, then never came back in stock. I was lucky enough to snag some and made pajama pants.

Fleece is yay! I love fleece! But sigh for PP, RD, and Princess TS being the characters on it... They have completely taken over all of Hasbro's merchandise marketing this year. Claire's Boutique has jewelery with only these three on it, birthday wrapping paper is out featuring only these three (though I think it's from last year), the Build-A-Bear characters were these three, and now this fabric.

I think it's the colors, really. Any time I see merchandise aimed at girls, companies like to decorate them with pink, lavender, and baby blue. They've become /the/ colors for young girls. Even my 80's girl merchandise is primarily these three colors (look at the Jem & The Holograms band!).

That is very spendy! But then all fabric has gone up! My mom has been a quilter for ever and she cant get over how much things have gone up.
