Initials under the bottom of the feet?

Did you ever used to put initials under the bottom of your ponies feet? If so how come? Also did you ever find or come across ones with letter under the feet? My sister and I used to because we had lots of duplicates and I never realized back then these would ever be more than toys you know. I'm also curious if anyone ever got a G1 pony with the letter 'K' or 'B' under it, because it might be one of my family's childhood ponies!

I used to put my name or initials when I was little. The reason I did it was so mine didn't get mixed up with my friends ponies or lost when I brought them to school or played at the park.

My child hood ones had a T under there hoof from my big sister- they were all hand me downs~ I am only missing 3 childhood ponies though~

Cool stories guys! I'm not even sure how many we had easily over 200, I know my mom never wanted us to sell the boys since they were rare so she always would pick those up from thrift stores, I think we probably had like 200 ponies, sold maybe 50 of them in the first garage sale we sold them in(including any fakies) I sold all my G2 ponies in a garage sale one time, and we sold maybe another 50 G1 ponies in a box for $20, we still have many of our childhood ponies, although my cousins had them for a few years and destroyed most of them, and lost some too, they played with them in the mud outside then didn't clean them :/ I can post pictures of some if you guys want to see them.

As a child I gave my ponies improvised celestial and space-related names and used to write their entire name under their feet. Not my name, but theirs. Depending on the length of the name I sometimes needed more than one foot. Over time, the ballpoint pen has spread into an unintelligible blue smudge in the plastic.

Nope my ponies likes to use ball point pin over their bodies to make tattoos. Hey I told them to stop!

I have bought a few as an adult with names on feet. What's neat is I bought two ponies from the same country but different sellers. They have the same initials on their feet. I would like to think they are old friends no matter how slim the chance.

My mom used a black permanent marker to put a big dot under one hoof of every one of my childhood ponies so that they wouldn't get mixed up with my friend's ponies when we played together.

No, I never wrote on my ponies.  They never went anywhere, so there was never any danger of them being lost or mistaken for someone else's herd.

I marked my ponies with a "V" back then It was to prevent them getting mixed with my friends ponies... and because my friend sometimes used to lie about the toys she owned (it happened that she stole a piece from me and telling me that it was her new toys that she had just gotten from her aunt or something).

I once got a huge box with a childhood collection from a woman and all ponies had their names written under hooves plus the complete name of their owner in tiny tiny tiny letters.

I think I was a bit OCD as a child, because writing on my ponies was something that would've driven me up the wall. Also, giving them haircuts was unthinkable!

There were a few in my childhood collection that we bought used whose feet/bellies were written on. It made me sad.

My ponies just stayed in my room, so I never had to worry about losing them. One of the benefits of being a friendless child, I suppose.

when I was a little kid the huge G1 collection was still my sister's not mine She never wrote on them, and I would never dream of it! I think she would have disowned me! when they became mine, I kept up the tradition and never marked any of my own ponies.

I do have my Initials on all the bottoms of my childhood dinosaur's feet however. (as well as a bunch of other odd "customizations" )

I don't remember ever putting something on my ponies, but I've come across (and still have!) ponies with names or initials =) 

One of them is a Diamond Dreams with a blurred name (?) on the back of her neck.

I never wrote on my ponies, didn't have siblings to steal my stuff.

I have a SIL who does this to all her kids' toys including Pokemon cards. I never did, but I initialed my school crayons since classmates were bad about returning them.
