and from Running Press... aren't all the other pony books Little Brown?

Most? Yes. All? No. I've seen a few new books on Amazon that are going to be published by Readers Digest.

Wow- I hate to get my hopes up for something without a picture- especially when Amazon does "placeholder" listings all the time-  but a brushable Firefly !!!  It sure sounds good to me I wish we didn't have to wait until April of 2014 to find out what is in store- and I REALLY hope we are talking about a pony larger than Dolly mix...

Lot's of speculation on EQD saying she will be Rainbow's mom and there is a LOT of support too! Didn't see any negativity and they are mostly bronies on there, just saying I think everyone is in full support for Firefly to be her mother.

It's too early to tell what this is, really. If it is G4, that's perfectly fine. I  have no problem with her becoming G4, or being revealed as Dash's mom. Not being negative, but a few things stick out to me about this;

1.) No indication that this is FiM anywhere. True, a lot of FiM products don't say that, ethier. But this is a character that's never been in FiM before, popular from another generation, that's getting her own brushable toy.

2.) The idea that Firefly is Dash's mother is a FAN idea, based on a comment Lauren made. There has been no idication anywhere from anything offical, that even IF Firefly were introduced in G4 they would make her Dash's mom. I see a lot of people online getting excited about this 'Firefly' thing for an idea that has no basis in anything save fanon. Just because something becomes 'fanon', doesn't mean the show and toyline's going to follow it. One thing that annoys me about this fandom is how they always assume generally accepted fanon will become canon. (Not directed at anyone here).

3.) This is being produced by a diffrent company than normally does the FiM books. That doesn't mean much, but G1 could be being treated as a diffrent lisensce by Hasbro.

4.) The Star shaped brush is a g1 thing, that came with the G1 toy.

5.) It's quite possible this could be to celebrate the anniversary (Although that was this year, Hasbro might be counting it from the Midnight Castle special- OR this could be for the 30th anniversary of Midnight castle)

But be it G4 or G1, I'm looking forward to it.

Anyone else having a hard time keeping this topic in the back of their mind!?? I CANT stop thinking about this! I really hope this isnt a placeholder.... I would really love Firefly! Eeeek so excited, too long of a wait!  An anniversery special would be awesome!

I'll be happy with G1 or G4, but part of me is hoping for a G4 update- as much as I love FiM fiction, I really miss the old characters.

Even if it's currently fanon, I'd totally be in support of G1 characters as parents- G1 Twilight is more or less Twilight Sparkle's mom, and given some of the hints dropped for season 4 (greater focus on the Mane 6's families, some Rainbow Dash "feels") it's certainly possible that Firefly gets presented RD's mother (it also wouldn't be the first time the show has canonized fanon.) Season 4 is only a few months away, so we might not have to wait until April to settle it.

HOLY HOLY HOLY CRAP!!!!!! Firefly!!!??! Maybe in brushable G4 version?!   

If this is a brushable G4 pony, man finally hasbro is redeeming themselves! I think if they kept creating online release only G1 ponies in G4 molds they would sell amazingly well, crosses fingers and  bought one!
