Baby Greek Medley question
« on: September 05, 2013, 02:33:14 PM »
I just got this cutie today and cleaned her all up, her marks came off with a wet Q-tip! Didn't even have to break out the heavy cleaner :P

I have a couple questions about her~  :satisfied:

I was thinking she looks a little discolored. Has anyone tried sun-fading on a Greek pony? And what color is she supposed to be? She is kinda a grey/off white atm.

Also what price does she normally sell for?

Thanks

My guess is that her body is supposed to be the color of the icy blue Bluebelle, but I've never seen one in person.

She is indeed supposed to be the light blue that the other icy blue Greeks are, but unfortunately those ones are also prone to discoloration, to the point where they can look grey or even yellow. As for sunfading, I don't know. I'd love to hear if it burns them or not though, as I have an off-white Greek girl that could use some brightening :)

I have no experience with sunfading Greeks.  But since this one was light blue originally, I would guess that she'd just get paler in the sun.  I kinda doubt it would bring the color back.  She looks great though, way better than she looked in the auction pics.
Nirvana grails:  Reverse Gusty (upgrade), Peru Windy and Moonstone (upgrade), Brazil TAF upgrades, Argie Powder w/ white hair (upgrade), French Windy and Moondancer (upgrades), Spain TAF's, TE's, and piggies.  These are my biggest wants, but I'm looking for tons more nirvanas, especially Greeks, Brazilians, and Peruvians.  Feel free to PM me for sales or trades.  But please note that I'm also fairly picky.

Thanks for all the input  I am not going to sun-fade her I am worried it will do more harm than good, :lookround:

Yes, she cleaned up very nice! And the marks on her cheeks and stuff came right off, it is odd the seller didn't clean her first, he could have made more money that way :satisfied: I think I might use her to trade, I have been wanting a Venny Applejack or Re Unicorno etc. Something like that, I think I will end up putting her in the Nirvana sales soon for trade  ^.^

Thanks PKW

Hmm, I am thinking at least $500, since that is what I have been offered for her if I decide to sell her, so far hehe ^.^ I guess it is just mostly what people are willing to pay for them?   :wonder:

I'm thinking the same as Kelly in that I don't think sunfading would help in this case. Because of thr discoloration, would have thought more $400, but I haven't seen one in a while.

If you check the inside of her body, you will probably see its original colour - it's usually unaffected by discolouration or sun-fading. I have seen the (Greek) sun bringing colours back to life but be careful: too much sun will make her colours look even paler. So, do sunbath her but conservatively! She is lovely!

Thank you for posting Aeith :) it's good to know she can be carefully sun faded.
