*sigh* not again.  Adding tinsel doesn't make it a different pony.  BTW, I hate tinsel it tangles the hair so easily.  I'm sure even by now little girls are even tired of the same ponies over and over again.

No, it isn't wire-like...just like tinsel but with a crimmed texture.

I don't have all of mane 6 yet, but I was really hoping, that the next wave will be without tinsel, actually that was the only reason I didn't complete the mane 6 already ><

The tinsel is like a spiral tinsel.  Still very tinsel flimsy, but in a tight spiral.  I've noticed you can pull it straight into a longer piece.  I can see it actually being more of a pain to style and keep nice looking.  Which, really doesn't bother me because I don't style or play with my ponies, but I can see it really being a mess for anyone who does.

  Is it wrong that I find a small amount of humor in all this complaining?  This is what Hasbro has *always* done, and the newer collectors are acting as if this is a shock.  they're ride the same profitable train as long as possible- and the more they make that's just repeating, the quicker the Generation will die.

Except it won't die because at least this time around there is a highly entertaining show to go along with it. However they are too dependent on the show and if for some reason it ended the line would die very quickly unless they shift gears.

What are you saying Hasbro has "always" done? Choose six or seven character are re-release them over and over with slight differences each time? I don't know how long you've been a collector, but that hasn't been the case for the past MLP generations at all. In fact, this is a new marketing ploy from Hasbro that has only taken effect in the past five or six years or so.

Knowing for a fact that Hasbro employees read the Arena posts, I think it's quite understandable that we as collectors make it known what we don't appreciate certain aspects of the line, both here on the boards and by speaking with our wallets and not buying constant re-releases that we don't like.

I'm not saying Hasbro will listen to us, but I think it would be foolish to just give up, keep quiet, not voice what we would like to see change. Changes in this world don't happen if no one talks about them.
