EDITED -

Seller and myself are ending communication on this matter.

I am returning the FT Bird and I got a refund.

So, this is resolved and I won't post further.

I'm sorry to hear about this. Did you ask for pictures before agreeing to buy the Fairy Tail bird?

Even if the seller is not familiar with Fairy Tails, she/he should be able to understand the importance of a hair cut in relation to buying/selling ponies. If the tail was severely cut, the seller should make the situation right even if they "were not familiar" enough to know the correct length. Be it ponies or birds, there's a big difference in value between a near mint item & an item with a major hair cut.

I'm sorry to hear that this happened, I can understand why you're upset and dissapointed with your purchase, especially since you received your item in a condition that was clearly unexpected.
I don't feel like it's wrong to ask for a partial refund, since you offered an amount based on the condition being of a certain quality.

Thank you both.  The seller is still very upset with me.  Saying that I am trying to ruin their reputation.  :(

I got a full refund, so I have decided to send the bird back.

I still don't understand this, but I hope this will simply end it.

I hope that the mods can help you settle this!  :(

So far there is no need for a mod to intervene.  However, should it get to that point I will ask them.

Thanks for the help!

I have a a few questions as, some things were not clear to me... did you send photos of the little litters you sent to this seller prior to sending and tell them about the condition of the items also? Did this seller specify their conditionnrquirements of the little litters prior to trade or sale?  Did you ask the seller to measure the tail length to make sure it was not cut badly?  Did you contact your seller first to just let them know there was a cut before suggesting a monitary solution?  Or did you send the first note of the hair cut with a request for a partial?  Certainly it is not wrong to be upset.  Its a motto of mine when something is damaged to write the seller and try to be nice about it.  I don't ask for anything, I give the seller a chance to respond first.  I have had some problems with sellers here being boldly rude to manipulate me to step back and not stand up for a fair result to a poorly described item.  This is not right.  Its quite unfair for a seller to suggest that a buyer is trying to hurt their reputation just over a problem with a sale.  Good communication, photos and detail descriptions on the part of both parties is essential to a positive outcome.  I am sorry your seller said those things to you.  There is no reason for them to make a complaint about what you sent them way after the fact and suggest that is being nice to ignore issues with a trade or sale.  It really sounds like there is not a good line of communication in this transaction.

Answering your questions:

Yes, I did send photos and described them to the best of my ability.  If I remember correctly, I even gave a better price than I would have since it was a large group of Lil Litters purchased.  They were not mint, but in very good shape.  At least, in my opinion.

I don't remember any specific requirements they had about the Lil Litters. >> When received they seemed very happy and I didn't get any negative remarks at the time.

No, I did not ask for measurements.  They had a group of 4 birds and she said when compared to the others the tail was a tad bit shorter.  I didn't ask for more.  I was send a group shot, but the tails were buried beneath the birds.   I didn't ask for more pics.  - My mistake.

I contacted the seller about the cut and my disappointment.  I did also ask for a partial refund in the same PM.  I did say that I wouldn't have made as large of an offer had I known about the severity of the cut tail.  I also mentioned that if the seller wanted we could do a price check thread.  I was trying to be fair to them.
