Deadlines:
PM to apply: Starts today and ends July 22nd (or at 20 people) Closed!
1st Photo Check-In: Aug 31st
Shipping Deadline: October 15th.  Addresses will be withheld until we receive pics of the completed custom.
You will not be held responsible for delays due to the fault of the post as long as you shipped on time.
Space is limited to 20 swappers!

Swap categories to choose from:
Classic Pony Swap - This category is for customizers who appreciate the traditional custom pony. Most customs in this grouping will be kept fairly simple with a few minor embellishments such as jewels, small accessories and simple wings. The end result is up to you.
Ponies Plus Swap - Get creative, this category is where you can get a little crazy. Be prepared for sculpting, sewing or intricate paintwork.

The Classic Swap requires 5 positive feedback for customs/sales on the Arena.
The Ponies Plus Swap requires 7 positive feedback for customs/sales on the Arena.

All swap participants will be required to include $5.00 (USD) worth of goodies or holiday treats.

Photo Check-In:
This year we ask that all participants submit a photo of the finished custom before shipping. Photos can be PMed to the CustomSwap account no later then October 15th.

Shipping Criteria:
DO NOT SHIP EARLY WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM THE CustomSwap ACCOUNT.
Airmail only for international, no exceptions.
For US residents shipping to US residents, first class may be used but Priority mail is encouraged
Postal receipts are required or negative feedback will be left.
Delivery confirmations and/or insurance is highly suggested.
Ponies should be well wrapped for shipping especially those with sculpted parts.
Do not send ponies in padded envelopes, boxes only please.
Let us know if you are willing to ship Internationally or not, we will try to accommodate you if possible, but this is not guaranteed.  Please do not join the swap if money for shipping is a concern.

***Please note that you will be held accountable if your custom is not well packaged and damaged during shipping. Members entering the Sculpted Pony category should take extra precautions to ensure that their custom arrives safely.
In the event that a custom does arrive damaged through no fault of the sender the receiver will have the option to ship back at their own expense to have the custom repaired.


After Shipping Rules:
PM CustomSwap to let us know that you have shipped your person's ponies. This is a must. We have to know once you ship your package. Please also let us know that you have your shipping receipt and which shipping method you chose.

Other Rules of the Swap:
All customs must be done using an adult Hasbro base.
All customs must be done using quality materials and made to last.
Customs should be rehaired with quality doll hair (Dollyhair, RetrodollsUS, MyLittleCustoms) or actual MLP hair in like new condition. Please PM for approval to use anything different - I will check to make sure it is OK with your partner.
Customs must be well packed for shipping.
Do not use newspapers or colored tissue paper.
Do not ship customs that are sticky/tacky or not fully dry.
Do use some sort of padding like bubble wrap, white tissue paper, peanuts, etc.

Common Mistakes:
Taking on more than you can handle. Please choose a swap category within your skill level.
Not starting early enough.
Letting it slip who your secret person is.
Not asking for advice when needed.
Not packing your custom well for shipping.

Include a list of your favorite goodies and holiday treats as well as any food allergies.

Answers to swap questions:

I tend to love...love...LOVE boys. So how about you? Do you prefer normal ponies, or would you like a boy? And if so, which gen for a boy?
I love the G1 boys.  I know people get a little hot about baiting them sometimes, but I'm not one of them lol.

Partner which do you prefer; A pony thats a character like a witch/ monster or character you've said you like etc, or a pony thats a scene ? Or do you not might either way?
I'm fine with either with a lean towards the pony becoming the character rather than a scene on the pony.   

Partner, do you prefer cute and whimsical or dark and spooky?
If you had to choose one of these colors, which would you pick?
Dark Purple
Dark Blue
Dark Red
Black

I'd much prefer dark and spooky than cutesy.
Of those colors I'd choose dark red.

Partners, how do you feel about bases/external accessories?  How important is it to you that pieces are removable (for example masks, clothing, shoes, hair pins, etc)
I prefer non removable accessories and a custom that can stand without a base.  Scenes and bases are fine but I’d rather the pony be able to stand unsupported.

What if I make a pony that's neither a scene nor a character?
Something different is always fun!

Let's say, you have a choice between a G1 and a G3. Which would you choose? And what is your fav pose of that generation?
If G1 then non bbe babies, applejack pose or boy.
If g3 I'd rather an adult and I tennd to like head angled poses rather than straight forward.  So like kimono instead of minty.
